Rhino - display problem

I bought Rhino about 2 months ago. Great piece of work, but I have had some display problems with text being garbled and not legible. I just tried to load it up in Tracktion and got the message "Bitmap could not be loaded - GetDIBits". The gui loads pretty whacked and is totally nonprogrammable. The sound is fine just visually wrong.

I recently bought a new monitor(old one died), Acer LCD 20in. wide screen. This monitor needs the highest resolution Windows XP(sp2) has to offer(1680x1050). So far I've had no problems with any other apps after the display settings change.

I went to the Rhino folder to find the skins bitmaps to see if they would properly display and all seemed to work fine.

I am clueless as to what is causing this, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, JB.

I've got some screen problems in Fl too. But in Acid, it works just fine

i've noticed a few glitches as well, mainly when selecting something new from a drop-down, like inserting an effect or going from amp to pitch envelope, but it is very mild and a quick tab-switch resets the "frame" and all is good.
In the future there will be robots!

You can try to use the receptor version of Rhino (available for download with your site code). You will lose the possibility to have custom fonts in skins.

i get this exact behaviour with rhino also.

i always figured the next update would cure this, but not sure if one is coming.

with which host ? They don't have the same refresh behaviour, sadly.

hi bt,
it happens in Live6 and Phrazor, on my laptop.

i was pretty sure it happens in SONAR, but i don't have access to my DAW at the moment (i'll try to check later).

interestingly, it does NOT occur in XT2.

update/correction: just checked SONAR6, and it works well in that host.

Hello,

I experienced this behavior of the Rhino 2.04 (Demo) VST in FL Studio (Demo) and a reinstall did not change a thing ...

I then discovered the remedy:

In the Rhino wrapper options UNCHECK "invalidate plugin editor window".

The display is fine now.
