Not the pre-delay on my reverb plugin knob. actual delay prior to the sample triggering so as to draw the ear into it. A long time ago i was able to achieve such effects with cool edit pro, but i've since gone away from destructive editing. Rather, i would like to apply it via a plug-in in the effects chain if possible.
Ideas?

now that ive thought about this. ive tried to achieve the desired effect by taking a snare, duplicating it multiple times nudging it over little by little and scaling the velocity to the shape of a slope. then duplicated this track, removed the last snare leaving just the echo, added some reverb and made more of a very fine roll. almost sounds like an electric surge. which sounds pretty cool and gives my snare a bit of an electronic sound, but it's not what i was trying to do lol.
