Program changes on multiple hardware synths

I am wondering, in a setup with a Kurzweil synth and Roland Fantom, what would be the easiest way to trigger program changes that would effect both synths simultaneously? So, let's say I have a song where I need strings on the Kurzweil and a lead on the Fantom...next part of song needs a piano on the Kurzweil and a Hammond on the Fantom, etc...Is there a foot controller that can do this, or can I do this just by sending MIDI program changes through only one of the synths?
Sorry if this is a basic MIDi question...I've been spoiled by VSTi's and now need to plan how to do it live...

AFAIR you can change the PC numbers in the K 2000 via the "Quick Acess" menu, so that the
sound on both keyboards change according to your wishes.
I would be surprised if the Fantom doesn't have such a feature as well.
How to send a Pchange to the Keyboards depend on the Host you use.

The answer can only be given once you tell us what device will be used to send the program changes.
If you use the Kurz as a master then you can easily setup program changes on several MIDI channels with 'Setup Mode'. You can also use foot-pedals to change programs.

Thanks for the responses. I did a little more research and found a Behringer foot pedal that looks like it could be handy. But if I can manage the program changes simultaneously from just the Kurzweil, that would be brilliant!
I am trying to avoid the need to use a laptop live, so I would like to use either just the Kurzweil, or a pedla to do the changes. I'm going to look into setup mode on the Kurzweil and see what that's all about...

The Behringer FCB1010 is a hugely flexible and reasonably-priced pedalboard. There is a very helpful user base to be found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fcb1010.
Programming the pedal is a bit like doing the Riverdance, but it's not that bad and there are freeware PC/Mac editors available. There is also a user-developed replacement ROM which I would recommend called the UNO chip. The programmer of this chip also has developed an add-on box that you can find at www.gordius.be.

Thanks, ZombyWoof...that's the Behringer pedal I found, it looks really, really handy! I've been noticing this about Behringer lately...they seem to have a lot of really useful, low-cost products that just make life easier. I'm going to see how controlling from the Kurzweil works, but even if that works, I will probably get that pedal anyway...I like the added feature that I could also use it to trigger one-off sound effects, etc...

Which model Kurz is it..?
On my K2500 I can send different Program and Bank change messages to other hardware on all 16 MIDI channels with just one key-press in 'Setup Mode'. And much more - Velocity switching, key switching, CC messages etc. It's possible to setup multi-layered patches using a combination of internal sounds and external MIDI devices, and any sounds can be modified from the Kurzweil with dedicated CCs during performance. In other words, what you're asking for in your original post is already do-able with your current gear.
Look into that before you spend any money on the Behringer. I can assure you, the Kurz will offer far more functionality.
Furthermore, although I don't actually own one, the Fantom is a very sophisticated bit of kit and I'm sure it will have similar functionality.
Good luck.
