Looking for a couple of piano patches or soundfonts

I'm pretty set on piano sounds, but I'm still missing some good ones. Maybe somebody could help me by pointing me in the direction of some free or low cost sounds.
First, I need a studio piano. Not a grand piano, but the studio pianos that have an epiano-ish sound. You'll find them on most old Casio keyboards and such. Are there any good ones out there?
Also, I'm looking for that perfect, sweet, piano/strings patch. Kind of like what comes with a Motif keyboard, but in sampled form. I know I could just layer things together, and I have. But I'd like to see if there are any good ones out there. Also, in the same category of layered piano sounds, I'd like one with an ethereal sound behind the piano as well. Kind of like a subtle airy background on top of a regular piano. Does that make sense?
Please understand that I KNOW I can layer sounds for the last two. But I'm looking for the patch anyways. Just curious if a good one exists for either of the last two. But the first piano, the studio one, is the most important. I haven't seen one that is acceptable for what I'm wanting.
Anybody have an idea of a good one? Thanks!

Take a look on my page - in the torrent tracker are a couple of pianos in SF2 format - IMO the best free available out there. Maybe there's something among it

Thanks! Downloading now, although rather slowly, but I know that's how torrents go sometimes.
I'm hoping there is at least one good studio piano in there. I have grand pianos aplenty. But I need studio pianos and uprights. It doesn't even have to be super detailed. So maybe I'll find a good one in there.
And if I don't, well, you can never have enough piano soundsets!

Well, I got 0.1% and it totally stopped. It is still connected, but no speed. This might take a while...........

Plugsound Free has a layered piano preset (Soft Piano Pad) that sounds nice. Not sure if it's what you are looking for.koolkeys wrote:Also, in the same category of layered piano sounds, I'd like one with an ethereal sound behind the piano as well. Any examples of that studio piano sound? I'm pretty lost there.

Hmmm, I have Plugsound free on my desktop, but don't remember that patch. I'll have to check it out.
Also, I don't really have any examples of the sound, but the piano LOOKS just like an upright, but has a different sound to it.

That's got a picture of one. The sound though has a little of an E-piano feel to it. It really is a unique sound and doesn't sound like other upright pianos.
I'll see if I can come up with something. My old Casio keyboard has one on it. If I get a chance, I can record it for reference.

I'm sorry about that. I offered this pack a couple of years ago and after like 2 months I stopped seeding myself, then it went on it's own. I added myself to the lists of seeds. Let's see if it's working.koolkeys wrote:Well, I got 0.1% and it totally stopped. It is still connected, but no speed. This might take a while...........
I'n terms of upright pianos. I really don't know, but I'm sure I put at least one in there. I still wait for my EWQL Bosendörfer 190 and Steinway B that a friend of my brother "bought" for me - and that was over 3/4th a year ago, and I'm using the Bosendörfer 96 BEAT Version from time to time. Else, I barely use pianos for solo parts, only BG stuff. And here I also have material like Halion 2/3, Kontakt 2 and Siedlaczek Classic Collection (speaking of which... did they release the update already? Hm...)

A free effect that might help you to get the sound you want (or might not): PSP Pianoverb.
http://www.pspaudioware.com/indexen.htm ... piano.html;PSP PianoVerb is a completely free plug-in for any VST, MAS and DirectX compatible host (such as Cubase, Logic, Nuendo, Sonar, DigitalPerformer). It reproduces special kind of reverberation originally provided by piano strings. It generates reverberation using twelve string operators with adjustable damping and decay time. Each of them is tuned to a particular note starting from A(55Hz) to a G#(103.8Hz). The PSP PianoVerb string system can be transposed in the range of +-24 semitones, tuned within a range of +-100 cents and be detuned as well. Transposing to lower octaves produces a bigger and less resonant sound similar to traditional reverbs, while in turn transposing to higher octaves produces a very bright harp-like effect.

I never thought of using Piano verb for that. I'll give it a run and see what it does.
I've been getting better speeds on that torrent, sometimes at 20kb/s. It's around 13 right now. So I'll get it in a couple of hours!
I'll let ya'll know what I find. Hopefully I can give an example of what I'm looking for if it's not in the options I've been looking at.

The folders contain the following pianos and harpsichords:
Harpsichord
- Harpsichord.sf2
- Haunted_Harpsichord_SEC.sf2
Piano
- Clavinova (Clavinova V2, Yamaha Clavinova Small)
- E-MU Pianos (Bosendorfer, GrandPiano)
- Hubbe VeloPiano (Classic, Generic, Jazz)
- Maestro Malmsjo
- NS Piano
- Soeren Bovbjerg (Fazioli Grand Piano 1.3, Steinway Bright 1.2, Steinway Grand 1.2)
- Splendid Grand
- Warren Trachtmann (Steinway)
All extracted about 640MB from the 245MB RAR.
I guess what you're looking for is a more bright piano. Also try to play with the EQ along with the reverb. There you can create a more boxy sound, or more upfront, or more boomy, like for the Malmsjö one.

Actually, the sound isn't really a bright piano. If the sound I want isn't in there, I'll try to hook up my Casio and record a sample of the sound.
The Casio would actually do fine if it was a bit more detailed. But it's not like Casio keyboards have the greatest samples. Well, not in the one I've got. I only use it for a controller for my VSTi's.

Ok, I made a very quick demo of my old Casio. The quality isn't the greatest, since the jacks on the keyboard have been through a LOT and are a bit messed up. So forgive me if this isn't that clear.
It's a wave file to avoid losing any more quality.

Notice the almost E-piano feel to it? At the end of the clip, I play various notes up and down the keyboard to show the sound a bit more.
So, does this sound like something that maybe I haven't seen? Am I using a term, "studio piano", for another kind of piano that it out? I've always known it as a studio piano, but maybe I'm off.
Thanks!
