...to be fair, Kontakt can do the same once you've set it to sampler mode. the only thing Kontakt can't do is the fm thing - apart from that (and maybe the morphing filters) they are pretty much equal (except Kontakt being better, of coursevacuvox wrote:Yep - Sampler can modulate the sample offset, loop start and loop length using LFOs or various MIDI controls including velocity, key, mod wheel, pitch bend etc. Easy as pie and very cool - use it alla dee time! vax
how does Ableton Sampler compare to Kontakt?

That'd be a big plus for me.poshook wrote:Sampler is also much more CPU efficient. the best in low CPU load
What about sample load times? My MachV can take up to 10 minutes to open up a song in Live (which is enough to make it unusable for me).
Still M5 Ver 2 should be out (relatively) soon, so I may hold off jumping on Sampler.
Want to change your additive synth into an addictive one? You just need 5000 Cs!

I can't speak for kontakt, but I have used sampler quite a lot in live and absolutely love it. The integration into the rest of live is flawless and it is very easy to use. I'm also a fan of the operator synth too, great sounding FM with good integration too. I hope ableton create more synths for live
