Hi all

I was reading remix magizine and found out about this:

Mind you, I am not thinking of using it as DJ tool, but as a cool processor for my other gear, and even guitar. It's reasonably priced as well. ( $149.00) Anybody try this or have it? I would love some feedback on this unit

Do they ever come up with their own ideas, or just copy other products?!

They always copy products. Money saved on R&D (and quality components) gets passed on to the consumer.

I guess "we" Behringer users will not get more than just "Behringer is Crap - get-ah-diz instead!" or "read the manual" as answers, Tim.

Happened in my thread too as soon as I mentioned that I use the Behringer Tube Ultragain... "Behringer is crap", "they can only steal from others" - maybe in the US, but I never seen such critism from the other side of the globe, aside from "Behringer is crap" maybe.

Oh... before you ask - no, never touched this thing.

I don't know about this one, but in the category of small, budget, fun & easy multi efx, i could recommend the ALesis Ineko or the Korg Kaoss Pad (you can find the first version for 50$ on e(vil)bay, same for the Alesis).
A lot of efx (some are good, some are quite crappy -but you can use for a different purpose in a creative way-) and it is sure fun !
The only thing lacking from these two are tap-tempo, btw.

My philosophy is this...it's better to make crap music on the cheap than to pay a fortune to make crap music.

Edit: I ought to mention i'm only referring to myself here

I know quite well the abilities of (at least) the people above.

My Behringer V-Amp 2 is accused of being a POD clone - which it is not. Somehow, Digitech, Korg, Vox, etc. all get a pass when they make an amp simulator, but Behringer is the one company singled out for not having an original idea.

I tell you what, the user interface on the V-Amp simply crushes any other amp simulator out there; particularly for the price. It's great for low light situations. The others don't even hold a candle to it.

Now, it is made of plastic, case and all, but quit the story that all they do is copy.

Yes, I am aware of the situations where they actually did copy Mackie and BBE circuits.

I'm also aware that they pick names of products to try to build off of other product's successes - like the Xenyx series of mixers being suspiciously named similar to the Onyx series from Mackie.

your right, it has audio in/out and fx. bastards have stole the idea

one of my mates has one tim, its actually pretty cool as a dj tool.
havent tried it with anything else, but at that price im sure you could make use of it somewhere.

I don't have a problem with their business model, my problem is that I have been disappointed by the quality of their products. I surely hope that doesn't offend anyone or upset the thread, but it's true. Of course it could be me

, I swear if you a warehouse full of working stuff and one piece that was defective I would be the one that would get the crap one

...Seriously though, there have been times I have considered something from behringer, but it's reputation with me stops me in my tracks.

Havin said that, Scott...what is it about the interface that blows everything away?...you've got my curiosity up...my belief in never say never is stronger than my dislike of any company (or person)...

Thanks! However..If I get one..I won't be DJing with it.

...but use it as an effect processor. Basically, I need a resonant filter for my EML 200 modular which does not have those kinds of filters. I could get a moog foogler, but they are rather expensive. so..how are the filters?

a side note: the Trigger Finger and othe products like it are considered as dj tools as well, but I don't use mine for that..I use it as an alternate controller becuase you can tune each pad to whatever note you want..its amazing when used that way instead of just triggering samples or drum sounds.
