Is that one like what I'm looking for? Or is it a different one that you are looking for?
Just curious, that's all!

Ok, actually I see now. It's the one in the torrent that compyfox has on his site. You can go get it in that package. I'm seeding it right now and have a great upload speed here at work.

Heard it. I don't know, sounds like this highly processed piano sounds that some keyboards have. But it doesn't fall in any particular "type" of sound to me.
When you say e-piano feel you mean like a Rhodes or like a digital/not acoustic sound? It doesn't sound like a Rhodes to me.
I have some "not acoustic" piano soundfonts at home but nothing very similar that I recall. I'll check.

I'm not exactly sure what e-piano it sounds like, as I have never really "learned" the sound of them, since I just got into e-pianos in the past couple of years.
But I know this sound has been on other keyboards in the past. Maybe it's a layered sound, maybe not. But I KNOW that I've seen it on almost every keyboard I've owned or tried out. And now that I have a couple of songs it would fit well with, I can't find a good sound set of it!

Thanks for the links. I actually don't need acoustic pianos in general. But I'm sure that someone will find the links useful. If you're looking for more, there is a thread in the RGC forum here at KVR that has TONS of links to soundfonts.

Koolkeys, a while ago in the sample torrents site, someone had a beautiful 256MB Akai grand uploaded. imo, the most beautiful free grand. Its a 4 layer grand with 5 to 6 presets for rock piano, jazz piano, etc.

Your example really sounds like a rather cheap-ish piano emulation to me, Brent, sort of a mixture between your usual GM grand and honkytonk patches. And hell no - no pun intended, I *know* one can put them to good use! But then, I think that MDAs piano could probably get you sort of started, maybe along with some really decently used modulation effect (and/or piano verb).
Otherwise, why don't you just sample your Casio?

Well, it's actually a different sound, and I've heard it before. There are other patches on the keyboard that DO sound like decent pianos and e-pianos.
The thing is, that I don't know that this is an official type of piano. But I know that there are different sounding uprights that are referred to as "studio pianos". I linked to one of them earlier. I think the difference is in the wood type, resonance, or something like that.
I'd sample my Casio, and might still do it, except for that it's not too detailed. So I figured that I'd look for a bit better one first.

The clip doesn't sound like any kind of acoustic piano at all, at least not realistically.
I have many soundfonts here but nothing very close. Still don't know what is the characteristic that you seek. Maybe something in the lines of this one? roland_piano.mp3

I don't think that one is close. The sound has an obvious e-piano feel to it, but it isn't an e-piano. The main difference between acoustic pianos(grands and normal uprights) and this one is the attack. It just sounds different. It rings out a bit differently as well, but that's not as distinctive.
Maybe what I'm looking for just doesn't exist. But I KNOW there are pianos that sound like this for the most part. Just nobody has sampled one?
