I'm looking for a very simple HARDWARE-BASED sequencer. It doesn't need to have any internal sounds. Cheap but reliable for a touring musician.

Ideally I would just love to be able to load my .midi files onto it.

So far, from a couple hours of research, it looks like the Yamaha QY-100 comes the closest, but I'm not 100% if it would be possible to load my midi files.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jamie

Also, before this thread goes further, I don't want a laptop on stage. I would like something standalone. Rackmount would be ideal, but not mandatory. The absolute maximum I can spend on this is $400.

If you live in U.S., I have the Alesis MMT-8 sequencer for sale.

Here's a link to what it is:

PM me for details. :)

if you want to take it with you a QY100 ( or QY 70 , but the QY70 has no Floppy/cardreader ) would be great. I have a QY70 and it is absolutely great. There are inbuild sounds, but these sound very 1990 , but for a quick composing while waiting for the bus it can't be beaten IMHO.
