Stage Piano

I have a Korg SP300 that I grown rather fond of (I really like the action) but the outputs are broken. I think the onboard amp is fried or something. However, the midi outputs still work. I need to find a piece of hardware that does the equivalent of what a softsynth does ("the bit that makes the actual noise") using midi (so I can use the korg as a controller) but it has to have some good piano sounds (and strings come to think of it). Can anyone tell me what I need?
