2.4GB is a humungous sample set; I hope it's pretty compressed for downloads!
And when you say available in June, are you thinking June 1, or 7 or 15 or what? Just curious...![]()
/fnx
Sorry about that ... We do mention an end of June release in a couple parts of the webpages. I think I forgot to put it in one or two spots. I'll try and update the ones I missed. But we are aiming for end June.
It could be available a little earlier if the final details go smoothly. Or a touch later, (should the unknown element creep in) .... but from what we see now, we are well on schedule.
The Pre Release may or may not last until Product release though (end June)...
Remember that pre release prices are only available to the first 150 orders. I will be mailing all of our customer base this special price info over the next week, so here is a heads up to those interested. It may best to get in before all the mailings go out if you want it at the reduced price. Once 150 licenses are sold, (if 150 licenses do indeed sell) the pre release special will then close until release day when the price will be $139.95.
If 150 licenses do not sell by release day.... The pre release special will last until the day that ManyBass releases. The price then goes to $139.95 that day.
Pre-Release pricing is for PC and Mac.
Hope this clears it up for those interested.
Thanks to all you other guys for the comments also.

Well - just saw the thread in instruments - haven't been in this forum for a while.
Don't slay me - but I haven't read all 8 pages.
Just tell me the news - are we looking at updating the ManyGuitar engine to reflect some of the features of the ManyBass engine?
This is fairly much a no-brainer for me to purchase, but some of those options looked like they could sit nicely in a ManyGuitar2 - know what I mean?
And - something I've been meaning to ask, Mr Tone. You're well known for your drum samples. Are we ever going to see an amazing collaboration resulting in a ManyDrum?
Regards
Caleb

The thread only announced ManyBass Today only a page or so ago... The rest of the thread was just to bug Doug.
Just kidding Doug
You asked about ManyGuitar 2 and what is in store for it.
We do answer a bit of this on the ManyBass Product description page where we say this:
So plans are for ManyGuitar Version2 to gain new features that will make it a better guitar instrument. This will surely feature some of the new code in ManyBass but will be tweaked and designed for Guitars. The Amp sims to start are different and I hope to see more models in future versions. With ManyBass we actually tweaked almost every FX on it to work better with Bass type sounds. Aldo at AraldFX knows his stuff when it comes to this so between him, and Greg and I on some new Sounds etc. I do see a bright future for ManyGuitar2. But it is still a ways off yet.So how are ManyBass and ManyGuitar different?
ManyBass is intended to create bass sounds. The amp sims and FX in ManyBass have been designed and tuned to work and sound better with bass sounds. Likewise the FX and amp sims in ManyGuitar are tuned for guitar type sounds. ManyBass also adds additional new features like the sample browser, 4 layer keyswitching, midi cc learn, a flanger and the new compressor. Some of these new ManyBass features will make it into the Version 2 of ManyGuitar, until then though, ManyBass is a much more advanced instrument on the whole. Each Product contains completely different samples:
* ManyBass has 2.4 gig of new Bass Guitar Samples. Also, as ManyTone has already released 3 Bass Sample packs available separately, we wanted an instrument that specialized in playing these type of sounds.
* ManyGuitar contains 1.2 gig of samples that includes both guitar and bass samples. In the future you can expect to see ManyGuitar develop into a stronger guitar based instrument, with additional features and sounds geared towards acoustic and electric guitars.
I'll announce more closer to it happening.
The price now for ManyBass at $99.95 is pretty unreal for 2.4 gig of new bass content and a new Engine to play them, so I am not surprised you'll probably be in for this one. Thanks again.
Drums .... well our drum product is 7 years old now and was our first entry into the sample market. We have done so much better work since then I think. Also so "many" drum products on the market. But ...We have talked about doing something new. May just be a collab too
Thanks for the post.

Yep - I saw this ManyBass as a great addition to the product range and I love the idea of specialising ManyGuitar.
This is all excellent news.
I want to know that I can just load up my ManyBass and it's the best bass I have - additionally, that I can load up my ManyGuitar and it's the best guitar I have.
So the more the engines are refined to specialise in their areas the happier I'll be.
I'm really glad you've decided to go in this direction.

I was right too, but did we win a prize? No. But we had fun.
The GUI looks very cool, but unfortunately I don't have a spare $99 lying around right now. What I should really do is just buy a bass.

Hi,
I was searching for a VST electric bass for metal/extreme metal music production, and i just saw your new plug on KVR news... i would like to know, if this intrument is capable for this kind of styles... i have tested EWQL hardcore bass and others but allways get that machine-gun effect on quick riffs, even changing articulations and everything else.
Thank you, greetings
P.S. I have listened the audio demos, very good... but they don't contain quick riffs / heavy stuff.. so i can't decide.

The bass I sampled for ManyBass is a bunch more expensive than $99 though.2ndStringer wrote:...but unfortunately I don't have a spare $99 lying around right now. What I should really do is just buy a bass.
@bduffy and alvarog: I'll work up a Rock/Metal and more heavy stuff for you guys to check out. (using, of course, the amp models and distortion ManyBass has)

I am sure that is absolutely the case! But I am a guitar player triggering the samples with a GR-20. I use Manytone samples because they sound good out of the box, but I am really just being lazy because I could play the parts if I had a bass around.Gregjazz wrote: The bass I sampled for ManyBass is a bunch more expensive than $99 though.![]()
