If you use more than one sampler/format feel free to respond in a post. But answer the poll if it's one in particular that you use a lot. We're doing hundreds of previously unreleased multisampled instruments for download on www.esoundz.com and I'd like to know what formats people are using/wanting the most these days. Of course we'll be doing SampleTank because Sonic Reality is one of the only companies that makes SampleTank samples. But we'll also support other formats too. We might prioritize according to what people want the most. But, also it's an interesting question in general.

I forgot to put Ableton's Sampler. Well, I am sure I forgot some others. If you use them click "other" and then post which one you use. Feel free to discuss why you use the format too.

Wav and Rex2 and maybe Wusik if you consider it a sample format, Well at least Extreme Sample Converter does. :D

I have a lot of samplers, but none of them are among the biggies (i.e. Giga, Kontakt, Halion, EXS24, Reason), so I voted sfz, as it is the only format I know all the samplers I use will load reliably. And if not, sfz just uses .wav files, so I can always map them myself.

Mostly Kontakt, but also NNXT.

More or less the same here...i used more NNXT, but now the Kontakt-format both in Kontakt and in Sampler is more important. Have loads of sf2 too. Moreover i use Sampletank 2 (but not so often these days) and Wusikstation (more for synthlayers and complex sequences).
When i buy sound-sets, i try to get Kontakt and NNXT or sf2.
Beside of that i'm quite curious about Sampletron.

mostly kontakt, and quite a bit of nnxt :)

For RAM-based samples, first choice is SFZ, second choice is ST2. For streaming samples, first choice is Kontakt2.

Although you didn't list Wusik format, that's viable too, but it wouldn't be my first choice. On the other hand, if the samples are distinctive and desirable, I'd guess there's probably more copies of Wusik out there than DimPro (and possibly the others too), if no other reason than cost difference.

Kontakt, Orion-sampler (not much used of a majority I know, but nice), and I have many soundfonts. If I'd buy something I would prefer Kontakt and sf2. I use Awave studio sometimes to convert this into that if I need it, but having the wav-files around is always good.

I use gigastudio. I've converted 2 Sonic reality libraries to gigastudio by manually mapping wave files to instruments. Makes it easier to work with, when compared to SampleTank LE.

Kontakt2 for ns_kit7; SFZ for everything else, so that's what I voted.

Post

But why there's SFZ, but no SF2?

Because I forgot. It's too bad you can't edit a poll. But that's why there's "other" and people can just post that they use that format. Wusik too... interesting.

I use NNXT - i think that it's nice and easy to use - solid sampler.

SFZ or SoundFont, cause it's easy and all I'll need.
Battery does well though. And, ACID has a rather nifty way of audio stream/WAV clipping.
