Hanglow, do you think it would be worth building a clone of the Ampeg Scrambler? I've seen a couple of sites with schematics, and if it sounds as mental as it was supposed to be I rather fancy buiding one.
Coffee please, black, no sugar.

Yes I don't see why not. Tonepad sell a pcb for it http://www.tonepad.com/project.asp?id=16

also general guitar gadgets sell one as well...

Also there is a vero board version of it in the layout gallery in the diystombox forum, if you are feeling game. I'd just go with the pcb from tonepad, unless you are a soldering whizz.

Another octave I'd like to build is the foxx tone machine.

Good to see the Rat listed, I love that pedal

My favorite sounding pedal of all time is the old MXR Phase 90. I have a BYOC model of it that I love.

Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus: One of those cheap pedals that will someday only be available for astronomical prices on Ebay. Get one while they're cheap!

Digitech Whammy: Nothing else can do what this does!

TC Phaser: Mine needs repair, but it's a phenomenal sounding pedal

MXR Distortion+: I have an old original one, it's been my workhorse distortion for almost 20 years.

Rockman Wah - After bad luck with a slew of Crybaby's, this one is just incredible.

I have a Boss GT-8 that I use a lot, and because it has a spdif out, it is my main interface into my soundcard even when in bypass mode.

The only thing old I have that is great is an original Rockman analog chorus unit. Half-rack space. It's pretty cool--kind of an instant Alex Lifeson thing, but it sounds good on acoustic guitar, too. I keep it ultra subtle no matter what, though.

Boss "Blues Driver", a Roto-Vibe used only as a chorus pedal, a Cry-Baby, and a Fender DeLuxe Reverb. I have a Digitech pedal that I sometimes use when I want delay fx, but most of the time I just use the wah pedal as a fixed tone control and otherwise plug straight into my sweet, sweet amp.

I actually hate the Roto-Vibe's main effect (shiddy "Leslie"), but it's my favorite all-time Chorus pedal.

On the board:
Boss TR-2 Tremolo
Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble
Boss CS-3 Compression/Sustainer
Boss NS-2 Noise Supressor
Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe
Voodoo Lab Superfuzz (although I'd rather have my old Univox Superfuzzes)
DigiTech Synth Wah
Dunlop 95Q Crybaby Wah
Ernie Ball 6166 Volume

Currently not on the board:
Danelectro Spring King Reverb
Big Muff Fuzz
Guyatone ST2 Compresson Sustainer
ZVex Fuzz Factory
Univox Uni-Vibe (currently out of order :( )

Driven by a Fillmore Mosrite MkI into a Fender Hotrod Deluxe.

I second the statement by jplanet about the Danelectro coolcat, I purchased one back in the 90's and love it! Currently for distortion and overdrive sounds I am using a Digitech DF-7 pedal. It models several distortion pedals that in my opinion does a fairly good job at re-creating the sound of the original.

Old EH Big Muff (5 dollars at a pawn shop about ten years ago)
Digitech Bad Monkey (this this freakin rocks!)
Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer
MXR Phase 90
EH Small Clone Chorus
EH Electric Mistress Flanger
Boss DD-6 delay
Boss DS-2
Crybaby 535 wah

I have others, but these are the only ones I ever really use. Mostly I just use the 535->Bad Monkey->Big Muff->reissue blackface Twin or late 60's Vox SuperBeatle. I never thought that I would find an overdrive that I liked better than the old tube screamer, but the Bad Monkey just blows it away. Plus, it reacts really well with the big muff when you put it in front of it. Best 35 dollars I've ever spent.
