Hi,

Would it be possible to expand how the mouse interacts with the waveform view in Edison?

Particularly, it would be very nice to be able to select a sliced segment by left-clicking on the area (either double click, or a single left-click on the marker to select the whole segment) rather than right-click, select from menu as it is. Right now, most simple interaction functions are only accessible through menus, which can really slow you down after a while.

Or to simply left-click and drag the mouse over an area and have it highlight, like your standard Windows box highlight function (currently the left-click on the wave form area doesn't seem to do anything, perhaps I'm doing something wrong?). Currently, it is very tricky to perform simple wave editing, like selecting a section of audio to delete it, or cut and paste functions inside one waveform.

Similarly, a single left-click, hold and drag on slice markers to adjust marker position manually would be useful. Or some kind of easy way to insert a slice marker at a given position.

Thanks,
Steve

but that's already the way it works (double-click on a marker to select it)

Really?

I must be doing something wrong then. I've just checked in Audiomulch, energyXT, Bidule and Live 6, I couldn't get it to work in any of them. Is there a setting somewhere that would block it from working? Maybe I turned something on that I shouldn't have?

Was it always that way? I think I'm using the latest version of the Juice Pack, I could try downloading again.

are you clicking on the marker itself? I mean the marker's label at the top?
It also works through ctrl+clicking the label btw

and what do you mean by 'the left click on the waveform doesn't seem to do anything'? Left-clicking does.. select

Damn, I figured out.

Seems Freeze was turned on by default (I guess I must have clicked it on by accident at some point and its state is persistent across instances). Turned it off and all is working fine. Strange, I think I actually knew it was supposed to work the way I had asked, but it hasn't since I installed the latest version.

Come to think of it now, is there a reason the Freeze state is persistent?
