Vintage Drum Machine Samples CD collection?

People,

I'm looking for an sample CD or DVD with samples from old & famous drum machines or modules. The problem is that these collections are often copied from 'free' sources, so it is a big variation in quality.

I have tried several sample CDs/DVDs from different labels. Some of kits there are sampled (or copied) with 8 bit or lower. It is impossible to use such kit in professional production.

If you know some sample CD or DVD with vintage drum machine samples, please recommend.

Thanks!

It's for the Korg Electribe series techinically...but you could use the Wave files in just about anything. Seems like a pretty comprehensive set. :)

Here's a link to the free drum kits Akai put out several years ago for the MPC:

I've always been interested in the Audiopervert samples, but never actually gotten them for whatever reason:

Audio playground also has a fairly impressive collection for sale (go to the bottom of the page):

Thank you for your answer.

Regarding Korg Electribe sounds. Do you know how good or bad are their samples?

What do you mean....how good are the AgentOne Samples? Or how good does a korg electribe sound with samples loaded into it?

he asks "how good" cause most vintage drum machine samples cds avaible suck... as he said many just contain samples copied from unreliable sources...there arent many people with the patience to sample drum machines..... most people just compile stuff they find in the net and sell it...ive got a big collection of free vintage drum machine kits... and they all sound different ... its amazing how different a emu sp can sound from kit to kit... the default tunning changes...the audio quality varies...a mess..
also ive found many of this free kits i have here included in commercial sold CDs, like in 'Best Service Drums Overkill'...and others...

hopefully someone will sugest some good ones....

hcv242,

That is 110% exactly my point! :-)

My intention is not to talk bad about 'Best Service Drums Overkill' or any else DVD, but the fact is that it is very annoying to hear how so big gap in quality between different kits.

For example, from one well knowns sample CD collection my intention was to find original EMU SP-12 drums and Oberheim DMX drums. If you compare those 2 kits, you will hear that there are a light years between their quality.

I can not imagine that the people who are creating those library work with 22 kHz 8 bit sampling technology :-0

For me it is not about money, despite the fact that for $100-400 it shall be naturally to expect production quality. The thing is that I'm often looking for some old and odd drum machine sound and imagine how disappointed I become when I discover that they are presented in 8 bit or similar.

After years of working with audio, I can very easy define if sound is 44.1 kHz 16 bit or 22 kHz 8. Often, when I'm browse through sample CD, I'm finding my self unsure - because I hear that it is clear 8 bit but I can't believe that they had 'guts' to pot such sample on CD!

But, maybe I'm asking too much...

I'm pretty sure that the Akai samples I linked to up above are in fact many of the same samples as in Nostalgia (made by the same person).

vintage machines I/II sounds quality...only one problem ...all samples are heavily processed...they seem to be a good buy though...

agent one legendary drum machines, looks good also... just wish someone could confirm that the samples in it where sampled by agent one.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that's what he was trying to get away from.
