Sound like you may be missing the filters, slight filter env and go easy on the reso.
I'd use a pulse or a triangle with a bit of pre-filter drive. With a pulse you can use PWM and make it interesting.
Really I'd say that much as you want something to sound just like someone else, why not develop you own sound and see where they take you.
