Using Pro Tools TDM 7.3.1
I just installed Sonik v2.1 and found:
1. It does not load in place of v2.0 like most plugin updates would be expected to do. So all my midi tracks for every song that ever used 2.0 now point to a blanked out plugin.
2. Settings files for v2.0 are not recognized (not even as "import") by 2.1
At the moment I am in the middle of an album with 12 songs worth of multiple Soniks. I'd be willing to redirect all the midi tracks to the new Sonik 2.1 however I can't retrieve ANY of my settings.
How are we supposed to deal with this regarding old songs?
Unfortunately, downgrading back to 2.0 is not an option. When used with Pro Tools 7.3.1 the midi timing slips by as much as 20 ticks between notes. So it's simply unusable.

Sonik 2.1 not recognizing settings from 2.0?

I am not speaking for IK and I agree this is one major drag (although not the only one). One solution is to load your old document and then from the old Sonik Synth save the combination. The newly saved combination should then load into the new version of Sonik Synth.

Yes apparently compatibility with previous sessions had to be broken for it to work with current and future versions of ProTools. There's something mentioned about it somewhere but it's being added to the PDF. As far as what there is to do about it, please contact IK tech support and they can help you.
I think that if someone hasn't upgraded yet they can load the songs and save the combis. Then reinstantiate in the new version after the update and load the combis to restore the settings. By the way, every song I ever do I save a combi of the settings. It's a good practice anyway.
