Using midi out in energyXT 1.41

I've just purchased energyXT, and have been unsuccessful at a simple use of the program version 1.41. I want to play a midi keyboard, route it through the chords module, and pass the output to a midi out port, which I will send to an external sequencer.

I'm able to route the midi keyboard input and see it. But I haven't been able to route any midi to a midi out port. In the main window, I have a Master in module, the Chords module, and the master out module connected. After failing to get this configuration to work, I tried the Toybear VST2MID VST. This also didn't work. Lastly, I tried using MidiOX,MidiYoke, but this also didn't work.

I tried the XT2 beta, but couldn't find the chords module in it.

Finally, I tried the VST version, no joy.

Is the midi out feature not implemented in this software yet?

I'd appreciate any light anyone could shed on this issue.

TIA.

Hi again... just got some more light on this for both of us.. The midi out via vst2midi works just ok inside cubase sx3 but for instance not on renoise... don't know why, but this might have something to do with the host taking over midi

I want to do this same thing in the standalone version. I've only started looking at the demo for version 1.

Controller KB -> eXT -> Hardware Synth.

Not sure if this is possible in v1. What about v2?

your midi output needs to be turned on in the setup window.

i think at the moment in ext1 you can only have 1 midi output :( but i believe you can use a seperate midiout plugin to get more outputs. e.g. nicfits midi out plugin.

so. go to setup -> enable a midioutput -> route you midi through whichever plugins yours using -> then link it to the master midi output.

im not too familiar with the chords comp, perhaps it only outputs on a certain midi channel? i dunno. Perhaps just test your midioutput without the chords comp.

getting midiout shouldnt be a problem  i've used ext1 many a time to controll a roland GM synth box and other things.

odd, it works here (to an on-board MIDI synth).
- can you post a screenshot of you main window and the Setup window?
