Awesome!
I've always wanted hosts to start doing things like this - especially with Python (language of kings).
Regards
Caleb

It wouldn't surprise me if the Abletons had already discussed the likelihood of someone noticing the Way In and exploring, so they could anticipate rather than react. To my suprise I got an email back from Bernd Roggendorf, Ableton AG's CTO. Bernd was quite gracious in congratulating us and working with our project to allow us to release our code. A couple days later we were given Ableton's blessing in posting our findings.

It seems that Ableton has agreed on publication instead of taking legal action, and they should know what's in the license agreementKai VejaR wrote:Huh? This is legal???![]()

This looks really cool. I've never been a big fan of Live, but this ...What can the Ableton Live Python API do?
Quite a lot! Please refer to the Ableton Live API documentation for full functionality descriptions, but here are some highlights.
Manipulation of Song settings such as tempo, groove, current play position
Manipulation of tracks, device parameters (VSTs,Mixers)
Triggering clips and scenes
MUCH MUCH more..
