- I have a unique request for the mixer:
Drag and drop groups.

Make a new group and drag a channel onto it. The track then sits to the right of the group, sends audio only to group, and has a box around it to show that the track is in that group.
Of course you could stick a group into a group.

Groups can be folded up like multi out VST's.

Also dragging a channel onto any other channel strip would route the audio just to the channel you dragged to.

It would be nice to somehow link groups to folder tracks but seeing as a track can have more than one vst, that might be tricky.

Groups would also have solo that solo that group, leave send channels on, but only enable sends on solo channels (typical Group solo type behavior)

Also add unmute all and un solo all buttons (see complex picture)

Is this going to be the Mixer FR's thread? If so - here's mine.

1) Please, please, please, let us rename individual channels in a multi-out VSTi.

2) Please, please, please, let us decide which channels we want hidden and which we want to show and have that configuration save-able as a mixer preset.

Caleb, yes, it should be.

And +1 to the FRs above.

And here's a few more:
- use different header background colour is used for VSTIs and VSTs
- hide/reveal the channels feeding into a group
- move a group (and its feeder channel) horizontally)

Also:
- to be able to hide/reveal the FX and EQ sections,
- following on from that one,to be able to display them _over_ the fader section temporarily for adjustment
- following on from that one,have a double-decker mixer (to get more channels on the screen)

- If a Chan is output to more than one location, I want to set the volumes of each line separately!

- please allow mixing functions directly on audio lines in the comp view

-ha.....cool.....That's a better workflow then right click select at the bottom of the mixer strip.

Great suggestions here! Here's one off the top of my head:

-when viewing the mixer strip in the sequencer page, have the ability to view all strips for a plug with multi outs
( arrow buttons on the bottom of mixer appear when applicable)

I would very much like for the mixer to have channels for MIDI tracks as well. Even if it's just volume and pan. But it really, really needs them. They could even be put in a group that can simply be hidden for people who want them out of the way.

Please, pretty-please, MIDI tracks in the mixer.

soma mentioned this idea on another thread and i already renamed all my pets after him. this is what we need. BAD. real bad.

also, is a mixer comp in the works, like oldschool 1.4 style? it doesn't make sense to NOT have one, I use many mixers per track in 1.4.

Yep for me this would be a perfectly acceptable time to use the old xt1 vertical mixer. Have each out listed one over the other. Same for when a vst/track is output to more than one place!

Even better for the comp view (IMHO) would be a 1.4 style DJ type mixer with cross fader, EQ that can cancel bands, etc. But I'd rather have mixing functions directly on audio lines first

I'm assuming clips will be able to hole mixer automation.
