It can't be done yet. I requested this and agree it is needed. I believe someone mentioned markers can make this work but TBH, as far as workflow, it would be ideal to utilize the double click which places the cursor at the point you double clicked. From here is where playback resumes until you double click on another point within the timeline.sinkmusic wrote:Hi
This is a rather general question (not really related specifically to this beta) :
- [space] key acts like a play/pause action, which means that the cursor stops at the place where you have hit "pause" ;
- how can you set it (or does another shortkey exists) to make it go back to the place you made the playback begin (= acting like "stop" and not "pause") ?
Thank you !

This resumes playback from the beginning of the song, i think he wants to resume playback from anywhere within the timeline and continue playback from that specific point (everytime he stops and resumes play with the spacebar/enter).soma wrote:F6 will open the setup menu then you can go to actions. transport-> rewind.

"1" will set to left loop marker.
shift+enter will play+loop selected clip. Will that work?

This is not bad, however, there are times when i am writing something and i want to start playback *between* the loop points. Technically, i could always set the loop to start at the point i want playbcak to commence and just use "1" but for "quick and easy" i like the double click idea."1" will set to left loop marker.
shift+enter will play+loop selected clip. Will that work?
Like Live in the arrangement view (red marker).
You da man!

That's it :Former Pharaoh wrote:soma wrote:i think he wants to resume playback from anywhere within the timeline and continue playback from that specific point (everytime he stops and resumes play with the spacebar/enter).
If i am currently at the beginning of bar 33, i hit [space], play my song for a while, then hit [space again, i would like that the cursor gets back to bar 33, and not at the point where i paused the playback (nor at the beginning of the song).

Exactly. the best bet for now is what Soma mentioned with using "1"...set the loop marker to start at bar 33 (using your example) and hit 1 to resume playback.sinkmusic wrote:

If the feature were implemented in the actions setttings list, [alt+space]would do the trick perfectly.
I don't know any other host working that way, and i am very used to come back to my initial playback startpoint when i hit [space]. (not that much important, btw, but a little annoyance to my habits

If you automate a vst-parameter directly (not via midi-envelope) or pan volume, etc. there's this value-box in the track header which you can tweak during playback while recording is on - and then the envelope is drawn automatically.

well, the track header is the header of a track - the little rectangle with the mute- and solo-buttons and stuff...djsubject wrote:

.b.t.w.: the term 'track-header' is neither invented by me nor eXT specific terminology - it's used for e.g. Logic, Sonar and ProTools as well...

what i have done is loaded a vst to a midi track, i have the track in inline editing mode, & no matter what i move no value box is there,
what am i missing
thanks for the help
i'm sure i'm doing something very stoopid as per
