[title changed ... DarkStar]
Here is a sample of the items from my list that can be condensed to line items: (Mods feel free to add a post above this to make it uniform with other key FR threads)
=============================
-Volume/pan sliders on audio lines
-Right click node -> insert component before
-Right click replace (work on multi select too)
-"Move mixer channel to comp view" command (done from in mixer, plops the effects out in the comp view and takes out of mixer)
-Select->Make group in mixer (encapsulates selected comps in a new group)
-Explode group (assuming group works the way I think, ungroups to comp view)
-Modulator component (LFO, Envelope, Velocity to CC map, envelope follower, etc)
-Thru switch on components (passes signal through dry)
-Wet/Dry Fader added to each audio line out
-"Organize" command that moves components in order of signal flow, making sure no component hides another.
-Pop-up showing sliders for all mapped parameters when hovering over a component
-Indication of level out on each audio line
-Indication of activity on a component when processing or receiving data
-Feedback loops

+1 to above
I definitely agree that the comps view is one area that has been neglected regarding new features.
+ add preset dropdown to VSTs
+ mini mixer (reminds me of the mixer in eXT1.4)
+ L/R sliders
+ clipping indicator
And not forgetting midi
+ midi fx on the input channel (below)
(:oops: I think I am getting carried away with MS Paint!}

On a less important note, the nodes are harder to grab than v1, seriously.
Just make the hotspot bigger.
And +1 to basically everything above, some great ideas there.

Yes +1... and one nitpicking request, I for one like the 1.4 way of names being displayed BELOW the comp as opposed to the right of the comp.Soma wrote:-"Organize" command that moves components in order of signal flow, making sure no component hides another.
Or even better, elongate the comps horizontally and place the name *within* the comp (like Bidule). This would make for an organized appearance as well.
I'm better than you. Deal with it.

I really like that idea, it could be taken to another level by displaying sliders or knobs for the mapped parameters, or have its own map of params to display.Charlie wrote:+1 to above

We really need to get to a point where you can litterally play in the comp view, and that could be a start...
Geez with so many cool FRs lately, i almost feel bummed that the final is due in less than 2 weeks

+1 for the above. Lots of my requests are in there also.
There needs to be a better way to insert components in the modular view without having to disconnect some things. Audiomulch has a great way to do it. Right click on a comp and then you insert before, insert after, replace. Or select 2 comps and swap them.
Another idea was to drag and drop on the wires themselves, hovering with a vst/comp over them would highlight them to see where it would be dropped. Might a bit hard though when there are lots of wires.

From: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&start=21in another thread, jorgen hinted at goodies when he wrote:how about a matrix comp or something? I mean, instead of building it into VST comps, maybe a separate comp with automation support would do the trick?
... a comp that can be used for various mutli in/out routing with send level automation. splitting/mergin signals...freque3ncy split...etc..
cheers

I mean:
Press ctrl+l and then move a gui then a slider
repeat
press ctrl+l again to turn off (an icon would have tolight up when you are mapping)

i think the comps window should have an optional mixer strip and object bar like the sequencer has.
the object bar would show the name, VST program, inputs/outputs, maybe other stuff like a midi receive channel setting...

in another thread, sinkmusic wrote: stacked comps
when you drag & drop a vst to a track in seq view, all is ok, but if you go to the comp view, they are all stack/layered, and then need to drag them again to see them all.
I'd like one of these days an option to add a new comp NEXT to another one, and not ONTOP of it, even if you drag/drop from the browser to the mixer view or the seq view.
Does it makes sense ?
to which, soma wrote:Sink, the way XT makes new components right on top of each other is very annoying for me too
But there really isn't much in the comp window yet to make it worth playing with (YET!)

As mentioned here http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=183069 by cYrus, when a VST is deleted it remains hidden in XT2 so that "Undo" can work and reinstate the VST.
A "Purge Undo Buffer" function would clear out the Undo states.
