Alas the bugs I described are still there when tested in REAPER here...

- in both VST and VSTi version: no acceptance of manually linked audio output in modular window
- in VST version: no acceptance of manually linked audio input etc.
- EXT2 GUI disappears after unfloating/docking the VST(i) in REAPER

- yet I managed to get the VSTi running (after EXT2 decided for the audio output itself) but I got buzzing sounds and now then a flash of the free Accordion VSTi I used for the test; same problem with Sampletank and other VSTI's : very distorted sounds

So I can't say things are running smoothly here so far :)

I downloaded the new vsti/vst version and in Ableton live, if I drop XT2 vsti on a track, the cpu shoots up to 20% with nothing loaded. (i have a p3 1.2 ghz)

Also in Ableton live 6.0.7, I can't drop the VST fx version on an audio track. It actually load on an instrument track just like the VSTi version. The previous VST fx version seemed to load alright.

WIth my P4 2.6ghz in ABleton Live5.2, it reaches 9-10% with nothing loaded...

As soon as I turn the audio on in Audiomulch with nothing but the VST version loaded, I get the following crash:

Using the latest build linked just above, and it happens with both VST and VSTi versions. Connecting audio also freezes and crashes Bidule, too. Seems to work in eXT v1 but I get a periodic pops/crackles in the audio. Seems to work okay in Tracktion v1.6 here, too.

Thank you Jorgen (a lot)

quick test in Reaper : it doesn't crash :) (At least, that's it !)
vst efx version = 12% cpu with a sequencer comp loaded
vsti version = 0%cpu with a sequencer comp loaded
I see the tempo getting synced correctly, but i can't make a sequence play (i have a drumtrack pattern, i would like it to play when hitting "play" in REaper transport.

THen i try to make a midi clip in Reaper and play the ext synth. So > ext = empty project and load the synth : i can play it, but when i close the plugin window and then reopen it, i can't visualize the synth.

test in LIve5.2
empty project > load a synth
it works, i can play a Live pattern using ext synth. It uses 4-5%, which is ok ;)
then i create a drumtrack pattern : I hit "play" : it works (and uses 5% cpu).

I guess we're on the right way :)

In Tracktion v1.6, I'm getting timing issues when playing a loop in the sequencer when Tracktion is controlling the transport. Seems to skip the first beat of a looped measure, despite being set up in Tracktion to start on the first beat. If Tracktion is playing, but I hit play from inside eXT, everything plays properly.

Also, the first time I hit play in Tracktion, I assum CPU spikes, because the audio goes blehh, but then goes back to normal pretty quickly.

well, I tried it again i REAPER and the now familiar XT2 VST(i)bugs described twice in this thread start to annoy me a bit, and I use a euphemism. I wonder if it all does work fine for jorgen when testing them in REAPER. Anyway, both VST versions are STILL unusable for me in REAPER (for exactly the same reasons as decribed above).

"Good" news is that REAPER didn't crash so far (and that our roof didn't come down today, the mountains here didn't run off during the night...), and that the VSTi sounds a bit like it should, so a LOT better - but FAR from right when loading various instruments/FX in a complex chain: no clear sound, an uninvited scratcher appearing on the stage, glitches etc. Never encountered in 1.4. So...

So I'm a happy irregular user of the lovely 1.4 VST(i) and will change habits when the coast is finally cleared. Till then I rest my case. Good luck to jorgen with all the fixes! (no irony here).

Thanks Jorgen!

That new upload fixed my probs (same has sinkmusic)

thats due to tracktion,

copy the bars & loop a bit in the middle (not starting on 1 or finishing at the end)

dose it still do it?

also T1 & T2 (& the current T3) don't send any pdc info to eXT

i think this will be fixed in 3.0.2.x coming very soon

Eep, really? I always knew there was a reason I never used it. I only keep it installed for confirming bugs when beta testing.

Within eXT1 doesn't crash immidiately. High CPU load 60-75% (for a simple project file containing 1 stretched loop and 1 synth)
Crashes after I tried out some different projects.
Within Phrazor nothing seems to be changed. CPU load 30-40%, Doesn't redraw the App Window.
Nearly the same behaviour for VTS and VSTi version

jorgen, my problem with SONAR seems to be due to the X-Ray thing they added in version 6. (basically allows you to make VST GUIs transparent). I don't use the X-Ray functionality, so I switched it off and XT2 loads properly this time. :)

Did anyone managed to make the efx plugin version of Ext2 in Live ?
I tried several times, and it doesn't seem to let any audio signal pass... :(
I tried in Reaper and it is fine, same with Ext2efx in Ext1.4, but no way in Live !?
soma wrote:Confirmed (Live 6). Audio is sent to XT from Live but XT doesn't receive it or pass it from "Audio In" to anything.
VSTi version works fine.
