title and post edited to reflect updates....

stuck rekkord

lots of seemingly random synth noodling with hidden structure :o
of sorts...

sorry its so long, sometimes when i hit record i just get lost in time and dont realise ive had the same sound looping for an hour :hihi:
i decided to upload it as it was recorded, in one chunk, no cuts no edits after the fact, just live sampling and looping.
not amazing at all but i had fun doing it and mebbe someone some where will enjoy it, who knows :)

its about 30 mins long, so my thanks to anyone who listens, but listen carefully, not everything is as it first appears to be, or something :)

more long noodles, not as random as the first and not as long either, 20 mins and 27 mins thereabouts respectively...

Hey vurt..downloading now...what kind of modulars do ya have cookin in it? I am interested in modulars these days. :-)

Post

just some reaktor stuff, the additional tracks are me aiming more at live production, i think im finding the right tools here n there, having fun while doing it too :D

grabbed, will listen and probably love it

Finally done.
I listened to all 3 trax before posting a comment
it took eons to download the whole pack but it was worth the pain.
1st is a bit raw for my taste but I like 'stop cooking' so much... A class A product, although I'm not into this kind of things, I really enjoyed it.
The 3rd one, waknbakeme, has a very similar mood and I'm listening to it right now. It sounds more experimental so far.

Cheers

Post

cool, glad you enjoyed specially the 2nd and 3rd :)
im feeling pretty ok with that particular setup for building it into a live set, along side the lights and projectors i have available i think it could be a good show :o
guess i better get workin on fleshing it out a bit :)
seriously thanks for takin the time, i will try and knock out a few shorter pieces but once you hit record you just get lost :hihi:

Went straight to stop cookin... great stuff! I imagined some cosmic overlord with a remote capable of controlling time like a dvd.

Post

stuck rekkord is damned fun! at 5:45 some additional magic happens that sets my brain on fire :)
I've only listened to it a few times and only now noticed the 2 additional ones posted so I guess I'll be back to show my appreciation again later

live performance? rofl, wtf I'd love to see that!

The bad thing about being me is that everyone already knows I'm a madman irl so the one audience I've played my KVR-type music for wasn't even that taken aback by it :(

The wireless's isp is acting up all day yet it allowed me to DL your tunes.

We should play the Monacco Flatfish Cajun Polkapunk Festival together next Decrembuary!
It'd be a good live act.

Stuck rekkord
at first, I was taken aback by this. How did you do this madness? I am somewhat paralyzed by the sounds. Staring into my computer screen without focusing. Your sound design here is nice. a lot of wows and whirs pulled through my head via my ear canals, then i get scared of the chaos that disentangles my mental web. Still listening however as i am fried and a captive audience at the same time.

stop cookin
The beat mangling makes me immediately happy after listening to the last track as i am a rhythm driven Soundtronaut. I am now curous what ens you are using here. There is a chilling quietness in the middle of this with a disturbingly beautiful moment of keyboardness. Then, back to the texture work......

wakenbakeme
Nice that it left off where the last began. really love that distant string bending harmony. Seems so elusive. This is not what I would consider "klassic Vurt" but it has your signature stamped on it, none the less. The ending becomes a digi-creature world wildlife documentary. I am a little freaked out after all is said and done.....thank you, Vurt. Nice ride.

I suprised I didn't catch this before. So far I'm pretty bowled over by stuck rekkord. My good friend the Analog purist refuses to belive it was done inside a computer. Thanks for sharing.

building sample maps from various takes of the stockhausen in my closet ensemble
adding those sample maps to an ensemble called vurtsampler(made by normal) two vs and two more stockhausens just doin what they do, all connected to 4 recorder loopers, these record a loop when told then loops it indefinitely, therefore giving the randomness a little structure...

this led onto ideas about taking it out of the bedroom and making it more suitable for live shows, this led to experiments to find the ensembles....

the first of many so far even attempts at finding the right combination of instruments and ensembles, and working out how i would make it flow, so far just ideas though, i hope the final stage sounds somewhat more together than these moments here :hihi:
the ensembles/instruments doing the stuttering drums is from rachmiel, its called cloud maker(and its feckin awesome, a long time fave)
