i have to first select the paramater in the list then i can do it?
silly me was moving knobs on the vst & expecting it to auto add the parameter for me

you need simply need to set up an automation-envelope for any parameter of this plugin...If you automate a vst-parameter directly (not via midi-envelope) or pan volume, etc. there's this value-box in the track header
