What about it doesn't dock right? Looks fine here. Wish it had a maximize button but oh well
You answered your own question.

Actually - I just realised it doesn't do this with any VST plug-ins. Damn!
Also if you resize the window when docked, XT2 doesn't remember what size you had it as - although this isn't an XT2 VST problem.

-EDIT-
Actually I just realised that it does seem to be an XT2 VST problem.
If doesn't remember its size.

The first eXT plug-in did remember.

First off, great work in organizing this Soma and I really mean that (not rubbing elbows cause i hate you regardless  ).
I found a bug and to make sure it hasn't been posted i went through your list in the first post; Very well organized.
(At least i *think* this hasn't been posted yet...couldn't find it).

Ok.... here is the bug with the drum track sampler:

Image

-Load a few samples (or at least a couple) and using the image above as an example, click on the sample *ONE* preview "pad" so that the first sample pane is selected (green border displays to show it is selected).

-Adjust the parameters (vol, pan etc.) on the sample *TWO* pane and you will hear that the sample in the first pane gets affected.

This actually goes for all sample panes where adjusting parameters in the subsequent pane affects the previous pane.
I'm better than you. Deal with it.

J1- Drum Tracks default to no midi input (should inherit same behavior as midi tracks)
Yes please. I need to emphasize this one from Soma's list because it seriously needs to be adjusted.

adding to drum inconsistancies

J8- Adjusting the pan/volume of any drum from the kit editor will always affect the selected drum, no the one adjusted.

if i move a part in the sequencer while its popup editor is open, the popup editor goes blank.

 how did we miss that for so long.

Adding to clip bugs:

J8- Moving a part in the sequencer while its pop-up editor is open makes the pop-up editor go blank.

Using repitch or stretch on a loop at 22khz or 11 khz doesn't update the waveform display properly. Seems to be cropped but the wave plays fine.

For some strange reason, it doesn't do that in the latest vst version Jorgen uploaded. (10th june)

Post

Hello Soma,

No it's not on multi-sample clips. Just a standard mono or stereo wave file either at 11khz or 22khz. Haven't tested other sample rate. This only happens in the standalone version. The new vst version from 10th june doesn't seem to have that prob.

edit:

Normal mode with a sample at 11khz:

Ah crap, I did something stupid and now my song won't load. I dragged and dropped a LADSPA plugin into my song, deleted it because it didn't work, and then saved my song. Every time XT2 tries to load the song it crashes with the error:

openProject error: loading comp 'gong_1424'
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It'd be nice if XT2 didn't die when loading a song with a bad plugin in it... (I want my song back) :(

Post

did you try to temporarily remove the ladspa-plugin from it's location?

But I of couse agree with your sentiment.

Post

playing a reversed stretched audio part will crash badly,

this will result in the need to manually power down your pc,

I can't reproduce. Can you nail it down to exactly what you did to make the clip? Apparently, the way you make clips affects the bugs you get.
Perhaps work it out on the audio clips issue page.

I'm not getting this in windows :? I dragged a VSTi to a midid track, inserted notes, saved, closed, deleted the .dll, opened XT2, opened file. I got a message saying the vst could notbe found but the song loaded fine :)
Can you research this a little more please? Is it only happening in Linux? Does it matter where inteh signal flow the plugin is? Does it matter if there is parameter data saved, etc?

REMINDER!
Don't start any important projects with a beta. 8)

hence I suggested removing the plugin temporarily.

The way you tested it can in no way replicate the problem he experienced.

To replicate his situation in windows do the following:

load any vst-plugin into a project and save.

Remove the plugin from the folder and copy any file which is not a vst-plugin into your vst-folder and name it exactly as the plugin you removed is named.

Then try to load the project and see what happens.
