I'm new to Electro stuff and I am listening to some mixes to get some ideas although these mixes not very inspiring, but their ok. How do I get that hollow/fuzzy/gritty sound? I thought it would be more square wave forms than saw's but what ever wave form I use it never sounds much different (even when playing with EQ), in fact they just sound like a DnB reese.

What other forms of music and production are you new too?? You haven't replyed to the Orchestra stuff yet lol.... each to there own I guess. BTW I'd use a colouring device or a warmer + compression, with a very subtle hint of distortion...not just EQ to get those fat synth tones.

Software suggestions would be, PSP Vintage Warmer, PSP Mix saturater, Colortone Pro, the Voxengo stuff...o and maybe the right kinds of softsynths....Zebra 2, NI Massive, ...plus the many number of free stuff...which are all very capable.

If you are on a MAC ...Logic Pro's plugs are great also to get you where you need to go, I also run a PC for the Voxengo stuff..which is porting to MAC soon YAY! ...anyways enough of the ranting.

that were just quick example, there is some good stuff out there! I say the same about most of the DnB you hear these days, unless it's the atmospheric stuff.

Yeah, my "bad taste" was acknowledged by my industry peers, when they rewarded me with 3 Emmies, and 12 nominations for my hard work, included being nominated for 2 of the five slots, 2 years in a row.

And for the record, I actually hate punk rock.

I'm more of a Dark Ambient and Classic Rock sort of guy.

I also like some of the Future Pop/EBM type stuff like Neuroticfish.
