good piano emulation

Hi to every synth/piano performer. Need your advice. I love expressive and loud playing on my piano at home. What instrument (workstation/digital piano) can you recommend to me to replace real piano on the stage?? It should sound expressive, and have a good keyboard. For example, do you know what MUSE are yousing on their live performances???? Or any other musicians?

The best piano emulation is Clavia's Nord Stage. I loved it ever since it was out, and many others agreed (last year and this year it won "best stage piano" category). See www.clavia.se for info and music examples. There's Nord Electro 2 which is also great.

I'm a huge fan of 4Front's true piano VST - but that means lugging around a computer or having a computer integrated inside your synth. . . .

You need a digital stage piano. The Roland RD-700SX comes to mind, Kawai MP8 is also excellent wih its woody keys but heavey as a tank. If you don't care for having a graded action, i.e. lower register keys are heavier just like a real piano, the Yamaha S-90 ES is really good.
All the above mentioned pianos have excellent sounds IMO, I like the Roland best, check it out at www.rolandus.com

Agree about the hardware; otherwise Steinberg's THE GRAND and N-I Akoustic Piano are truly stunning and very stable.

I just tested the Kawai MP5 (the MP4s successor) in a store a couple of days ago.
This keyboard seems to be pretty nice. It has a nice key-touch - not as good as
the MP8, but it's also 12kgs less in weight
The sound-section is identical to the MP8 Mark ii (the MP8s successor due out in
fall) and seems pretty good, too.
I'm currently looking for new key as well to replace my KX-88 (which is also pretty
cool regarding the key-action) due to the fact that it wheighs 29kgs and does not
contain any internal sounds, so I even have to carry an expander to use it as a piano...
So I will definately be getting this thing early next month...

I agree, MP8 and Clavia Nord Stage are the best choice (especially because Matthew Bellamy from MUSE uses MP8 on their live performances), but they cost too much for me... may be it should be better to buy very good hammer action MIDI keyboard and use it with sample libraries and software sampler... but that wouldn't look pretty on the stage.. ah..
