It sounds easy as hell to make but I don't think it is! I can never get that nice full rolling flow as my sound is just to boring.
I've been looking around for the last couple days on this subject but I've not found much to help me out.
My patterns tend to be
bbbbbbbbbbb
kkkkkkkkkkk
and
k-bb-k-bb-k

I think you can find some help from Cosmosis sites bassline basics.

Hey Fogga what sort of Psy are you into? I could e-mail you some MIDI file examples if you'd like?
BTW... I use Audio Realism's Bassline for most of my Psy basses... it's the poo!!!!

Hmm. If its that full-on style bass you are looking it's little bit difficult to get right. If you try note lenght of 64th you should get close. Try to set release right so it doesnt make full stop before next bass note but keeps rolling. If Kick and bass are not right for each others it doesnt sound good. Basicly pattern is like below. X is kick and b is bass and - is empty.Fogga wrote: Metanol, already looked there, still a bit stuck.

sidechaining is sometimes useful. Get a simple synth, saw + square fiddle with pwm, low cutoff stick some glide on the make it f**king twisted weeeeeeeeeee

...ok
...there seems to be a few psy fans out there who need a bass fix, so I'm gonna put together a couple of MIDI files and a mini-tutorial this weekend.
[I'm no pro, but i've been making psytrance for years and i've been listening to it since '96. So hopefully i can provide you's with some psy-bass-motivation!?...]

Get a hardware synth. I picked up a Bass Station for little more than 100€. It will make the difference.

Fogga, check www.psy-forum.co.uk and forum.isratrance.com if you haven't already - the two forums have dozens of threads on psy basslines. Also if you have Albino, download the bass patches from cosmosis.co.uk.

yeah. i dont really like fullon psy. its all a bit too trancy/not psychedelic enough for me, doesnt make me think of goblins and caves. procs does just that. he does a lot of interesting stuff. his sound pallette is awesome. very organic and well produced. listening to 'gluffsing the pop' right now. pure stomper.
