Actually it's more the second with a bit of the third... no little green men just yet...
[... tho I'd like to claim it came down from the mothership - I think it's got some funk ;)]

It's the cumination of all my work (and you know what I've worked on...) in modelling analogue kit... from 1-10.
From 10-11 and in fierce mode, it's me doing a little experiment in how I can take the analogue modelling strategies and extend them to the extremes of their logical conclusion. I had been kinda living with this idea of this compressor I really wanted to use that didn't hold me back when I wanted to get "more" out of it, and I wanted it based on that classic analogue squish. As I said to the other guys (before successfully convincing them to let me spec it as a project!), it's something I've been threatening to do for a long time... ;)

I'm feeling really good about it now, and I'm REALLY pleased to hear/see/read people getting excited about it! :D

Dave.

eh?
It is just him. The TBKs have been around for a LOOONG time... the first one was around for a fair while before it ever saw release. I like to think of it as a timeless classic ;)

That said, I can respect betabugz philosophy with UI design - as you can see we do have much more than one knob... but I think we agree on the idea that the correct and most intuitive control for what you're trying to do is what should be prominent.
Fair enough, good answer.

Didn't mean to pick a fight....

Is this alien technology? Secrets of the Gods??? The Hammer of Mjolnir!?!? :-o Sonalksis has descended once more from their big British factory in the sky to bequeath this gift to us mere mortals, so that we may enlighten our dull, dreary drum buses!
All Hail TBK3!! All Hail TBK3!! Yours is the superior... :hail:

Seriously, this thing is nuts. Instant gratification in the best possible sense; it's like SV-315 on coke. Great f*kin job, JFN and Dave, you keep amazing me. This is a must-have, x10. :D
LOL

Just wait until you login to your user account and see the fidelity discount we give to our current users... (even those of ya who never had any tbks at all before... )

;)

Get the mpc file here, or the wav file if you want to convert to a transient limited format.
Thanks man!

Though that is WAY too electronic for me :D

I just recorded some piano and vocals here thru the built in ibook microphone (no interface at home atm) for a radio jingle we are gonna do tomorrow, probably will add on some fake strings fron garritan (or not!) tomorrow, thats about how electronic it gets here..

hehe

:D

Woops, I've had SV315-Mk2, does this mean I missed a discount when I got the TBK suite?

Heh, yes, very electronic. I figured some people would like to hear some extreme electronic drum distortion, smackbox seems good for that :).

I'm dying to try this on some house-y stuff! Here are some more rock drums in the meantime, however: :D

Yeps, but of course we could fix that with a refund, no problems at all!

Though, if there's any other plug-in (sv-517 maybe?) that you would be interested in, I could hook you up with a nice price on it ...

:D

Hence my drooling and ranting! Glad you liked the example; I simply can't make this sound bad on drums, I don't think that's possible!

OK, I give up. Keeping my money to myself proved useless again. I purchased the bundle of TGK's. I already have and love the Essentials. Native plugins don't get any better than this to me. Just fantastic. Low CPU and great sound. I can't wait to try the new toys on a few things.
I figure I have a couple weeks before I'll have to explain the credit card bill to my wife. Good thing Father's Day is Sunday.

trmupstage: ROFL@explain the credit card bill..
