Here is my example created in Orion Platinum with the orions native Wasp XT synth (Powerchord guitar) :D
http://www.mediafire.com/?5ekygag3hyx

Wasp XT is the most underrated synth i have heard of (I see a lot of people complain about the native Orion synths being outdated, but think again) ;)

So what do you think of my example?
Score?

I give you a strong 5. for trying (I just love synth battles instead of lots of talking) :D
Well i like talking also, but it is alway good to have a few synth battles to learn the tools we have :D

Now i am off to create some spanish guitar sound :D

Il be right back :)

Here is example 2 a chorused guitar sound i have created with Rob Papens Blue :D

This is also a melody and not some wild playing like on example no.1 :D

well it is much better than mine but it's also too loud..
maybe too much distortion or something
well that's a metal guitar

i'm looking for something less loud.. that sounds more like classic guitar

can i see a picture of the synth with the patch u created to try to create it myself with vanguard/z3ta+/whatever ?

and i'm waiting for the spanish guitar :)

oh i forgot - if your target was electric guitar than i give u 5 out of 5! :)

thanks for the help..

Ooh synth guitar time!
Well normally I'd just take a soundfont or sample and run it through a guitar amp simulation, but there are simpler ways if you want a more versatile sound...

Take the following example for instance:

Example1

That time, I took a simple oscillating saw, ran it through an automated high pass filter (for wahwah :P ) then distorted the crap out of it with the native FL Studio distortion plugins. (and I also threw in a delay)

Example 2

For this one: I took a different oscillating waveform and ran it through a HP filter and then a guitar amp simulation vst. Sounds a bit more realistic, huh?

Of course this is using FL, not sure if it's much help to you...

Try Lounge Lizard. You can make some nice sounding guitars with it IMO. Throw some Wah and Distortion FX on them Rhodes and Wurli E-piano and it sounds nice and funky. Also try the freeware "String Theory" VSTi, it's one of my favorites for that classic guitar sound, really nice sound IMO.

Hear this, it's 6 different HipHop beat examples I made and I used Lounge Lizard E-Piano VSTi. Those guitar-ish sounding elements are all from LZ, I also only used LZ built-in FX.

Cool examples :D
Sounded almost like speaking metal guitars :tu:

nice melody D-Fusion and thanks for the screenshot :)
aeron and BASSDRIVE thank you both for the examples and tips..
i will try them all tomorrow cause here in israel it's 12:30 AM and i need to wake to school tomorrow..
so i can't use my speakers now :\

aeron - can u please write a few nice guitar amp simulation plugins while i'm sleeping :D ?
this can make my day (of tomorrow :D )

thank you all (again :) )

--edit--

i hate my headphones but right now that's my only option :\
so i listened to the example and i think they are good but the sound is too heavy..
maybe u don't listen to infected mushroom but have u listened to their great track "becoming insane"? the guitar sound in the intro is just what i'm looking for but they used a real guitar with some effect.. not a synthesizer
i have 2 guitars (well actually my brother has)
one acoustic and the second is electric..
i can connect the them both to the guitar using a poor and cheap (2 shekels.. which are about 0.5 dollar) PL to Mini PL adapter but that's still something but i don't know which effects to use (i also have guitar rig 2 installed.. my brother used to play with it) but well even the perfect effect won't help me cause i never played a guitar :D

i don't really have a point here.. i'm just trying to write a full story in the dark without looking at the keyboard.. well.. i made it :)

good night :)

Post

heh, well I don't actually write the plugins myself, but if you're looking for a free amp plugin try TubeBaby. it's pretty solid and provides enough different sounds to get started with.

Post

lol aeron I meant that u will write a list of a a few nice plugins.. not to write the plugins yourself
it is all because of my bad english :)

Post

you should try the following:
synth: UGO String Theory
amp modeler: Voxengo Boogex

some stuff you can put in between to shape the sound more precisecly:
parametric eqs, compressors

Post

omg i've tried Izotope Trash and it's a great distortion plugin!!
now i can make a piano to sound like a heavy guitar :P
the sound is very very good!!
too bad it will function in full mod only for 10 days :\
