frequency dependant phaseshifter - an idea for you guys?

A phaseshifting plugin, where one can adjust the degree of phaseshift and the frequencies it should affect ?
I'm asking because I recently had a live recording where the mic's on the piano was placed so that the lower frequencies were out of phase, and though it sounded very good in stereo it was lousy in mono.
