It's the old analogue desk style.
It is "assumed" that the TBK3 would be on an aux/bus and you'd just send to it. Of course, that makes no sense for a compressor - where you'd want to mix the bus fader, but hey.

Probably been missing something here, but you probably want to work with the AUX fader..DaveSonalksis wrote:It's the old analogue desk style.

And using a send in pre fader mode, put tbk3 on an aux, and then sub both the track and the aux to another aux (or a "sub master fader") then youre home...
Or are we talking stoneage daws here?

Well then you have your wet/dry there..bduffy wrote:Cubase can actually do that, believe it or not.
Problem temporarily solved!!
I actually did just exactly this operation with bass+drums Saturday during mix of a song, though I am in DP5, king of the REAL daw softwares....
hehehe

Yep, that's totally what I've been doing for years in Cubase/Nuendo: pre-fader send to the compressor bus, then bus dry + compressed to the final drum bus. This is obviously TBK3's destiny.

Actually, it has been on the table here, though there are lots of stuff on this table and as long as we dont get any requests at all about this, it will most probably not reach the list of future things to look in to.steff3 wrote:great, so when will we see MAS versions of the plugins? especially those with side-chaining and surround versions ?JFN wrote: though I am in DP5, king of the REAL daw softwares....

But it would be nice to be able to provide it, absolutely.

Well, principally MAS developers are rated very highly in the community and recommended first.
Maybe I should make a post over at MOTU-Mac .....

Now I dont get what youre sayin?
Though, we often get questions and suggestions to our support mail, and so far, there has been zero requests or wishes for MAS versions so far.

Well, MOTU (DP)users are at MOTU-MAC mailing list. So if there are discussions about plugins or someone says that he needs a plugin and is looking for opinions than MAS-developers are recommended first.
now for your plugins (side-chaining) it would be really a great advantage for MAS-users to have them natively ..... (before side-chaining it was not that interesting - as AU are integrated nicely ..... and as most developers you seem to ignore surround market
)
I posted a link to this thread on MOTU-Mac - so let's see what happens.

I'm very pleased to tell you that we've figured this outkylen wrote:...and my SV517mk2 EQ graphics fix would be cool to get also...
Am I the only one seeing this - the EQ curve graphics go bonkers and turn into vertical lines...
Basically, it's an indicator that your preferences have gone scooby-doo.
How they went nuts, we don't know (so feel free to post me your HKCU\Software\Sonalksis\prefdata517Mk2 key!)
There are two ways to fix it, each of which will take less than a minute:
1) (not recommended) Delete HKCU\Software\Sonalksis\prefdata517Mk2
or
2) (recommended) Open a 517Mk2, hit Setup, and choose one option on every row on each of the pages.
It'll take about a minute either way, but going through setup is more fun
Lemme know how you get on!
Dave.

Hi Dave
I don't seem to be able to get an answer from the Sonalksis form submit, so I'll try here.
Trying the essentials demo.
Can you tell me about the ability to external input sidechain with SV315 in Ableton. Is it possible at the moment. Works in SX3 and PT73 but not Live. I don't see anything to select in the list.
btw I think TBK3 is going to be an essential for me as well.
Thanks
Rod

Hmm... I see your ticket in the support system; JFN was going to email you something. I'll explain more belowRod Staples wrote:Hi Dave

From your email and this post, I gather you're using v2.02 of SV315Mk2, which means that Live sidechaining stops working. Basically, we changed some stuff to make Cubase4 sidechaining work... and Live stopped!Trying the essentials demo.

We have a fix for this that's going to beta, and hopefully will be out soon. In the meantime, v2.00 works fine with Live AND SX3 (just not SX4!), so we'll send over the installer for that, and everything should be cool!
I'll hassle JFN to get to work
Cool!btw I think TBK3 is going to be an essential for me as well.
