Any suggestions ? We are looking for something under £450 ($900) and would like at least 8 tracks. each track must have a seperate input and output for routing back to the mixer. Theres so much choice at the moment that its a bit overwhelming so if you have any suggestions please let me know. Breakout boxes for mixing software like cubase might also be a possibility.....
cheers,
Gus

PS Interested Second hand gear or ex display gear as well.

Gus, do you use Cubase right now? I mean do you have to factor in buying it?

If you already have Cubase at your disposal, and you want to go digital but don't mind using the computer to record, I would recommend giving the Mackie Onyx with firewire a serious look.

Otherwise I would go with Tascam or one of those Roland VS recorders.

Or maybe even (if you can track one down) those old Akai MG1212's if you want to go analog.

oh yeah, Nuendo should work fine.

and the cool thing with the Onyx mixers (make sure it has the firewire option) is that you can record all channels as separate tracks simultaneously.
