It looks like the plugin versions mustn't be located inside the XT2 directoty together with the exe or loading one of them in XT2 will immediately crash it.
To do with the ini file maybe ?
Putting them in an extra folder seems to work.

Did anyone managed to make the efx plugin version of Ext2 in Live ?
I tried several times, and it doesn't seem to let any audio signal pass...
I tried in Reaper and it is fine, same with Ext2efx in Ext1.4, but no way in Live !?
VSTi version works fine.soma wrote:Confirmed (Live 6). Audio is sent to XT from Live but XT doesn't receive it or pass it from "Audio In" to anything.

Vst version dosn't seem to work in Orion Plat beta 7.5. I'm told it works ok in OP 7.1. It might be a good idea for jorgen to have a word with Rich and Jouni to see what they are doing with their new audio engine.

Hi,
copied from my topic on this issue
I did some testing and it looks like Energy XT replaces every first note of the loop by a small fraction of a note at the beginning of the following bar outside the looped segment. So the first notes of a looped bar will not get played, but a fraction of the note at the beginning of the next bar will.
As if Energy XT played inside itself a few milliseconds too late

Good it's not just me then.
Same problem here in Live 6.07. Recording a midi loop and then moving the first note also caused the note to no longer play at the beginning of the bar.
(No problems with the duel monitor on XT2 though gui updates like a champ which was broken on XT1)

also if it helps the developer at all, the current version of energy xt 2.0 does not seem to do this in the vst effect mode. only in stand alone and Vsti..029 wrote:Hi,

Hi,
there seems to be some stuff with the locators also. In (at least) VSTi and VST mode, the sequencer loops a segment that reverts to its original lenght even if you change it. The loopable region therefor cannot be changed.
Even if you put the region loop off, Energy XT 2.0 starts looping the first bar by itself in a way, that it will work for a while if you put it off while playback is on, but every time you press stop and start playback again - which usually might happen alot when composing - it reverts back on and starts looping the first bar again.
2. Also - incase the song is looped - recording notes sets the sequencer off course and XT 2 loses the regional sync with the host.
hope these could be solved since otherwise XT seems really good

when I open a song in XT2 VST the window is not displayed correctly - a part of the host window is displayed and the VST window is offset to the right and downwards. If you close and re-open the VST window it is displayed correctly.

not sure if this is related, but here's something i found. if you record-arm XT2VST and then move the playback cursor in the host, and then press play in the host, the cursor in the VST doesn't sync with the host. it just stays wherever it happened to be. this happens in every host i tried. doesn't matter if there's a loop or not.029 wrote:2. I think that that behaviour might be a feature, but really it would be best to have the option: Internal/External Sync

Resizing XT2 VST
With XT2 Standalone, when you hover over the main window edges you get the double-headed arrows to change the size of the window. In XT2 VST(i) you don't.

i agree that the option should be there, and i think it should default to external sync.DarkStar wrote:I think that that behaviour might be a feature, but really it would be best to have the option: Internal/External Sync
however, the current way it syncs when recording doesn't make sense. when the record button is engaged, you need to manually place the cursor in the VST to match the host position, or it will record in the wrong place. why would you want to record something in a different place from where it will play back?

Here's an idea how to solve all these host synchronization problems in v2:
The sequencer should be controllable by simple midi notes. For example a C3 note on channel 16 could start the sequencer for the duration of the note. This is quite simple to implement and very easy to use. And it works in every host
.
Actually it makes also sense to apply this mapping scheme to many other energyXt functions:
C3 on/off -> sequencer playback on/off
D3 on/off -> midi record on/off
E3 on/off -> audio record on/off
... whatever.
Therefor I suggest to extend the keyboard mapping table with a note field.

Hi,
There is a problem when i use the multiFX in eXT2 VST and VSTI....in fact, for example I want use the delay, change some parameters then I close the multiFX and eXT VST windows. But, when I re-open the multiFX window my delay has disappeared whereas I listen yet the effect in action. To have access to the parameters, I must choose an other effect and my delay re-appears with the other effect.
It should be a bug.....
