Long Evolving Textural Patches?

How to make that sound...

I saw that WayOutWare's TimewARP claims that it can do Evolving Textural Patches. I don't know exactly what that means, but I like the sound of it. I hope it's possible to make them long!

Are there any hardware synths that can create long evolving patches? Can any of the Clavia synths do it?

Also, what other soft synths can do it?

Thanks

i just discovered cameleon 5000. You can turn anything (it turns samples into a syth patch!)into a long ambient pad / textural sound, but the beauty of it is you morph between 4 different sounds, and its NOT a simple fade between them, the frequencies literally modify were they need to to change the sound. What you get is something sounding really in depth - ear candy!

Imagine taking 4 syth pads over 8 bars, and combining them.

I think thats what your talking about anyway....

+1 Cameleon 5000. The randomize is awesome for rolling your own! :tu:

Absynth3 is awesome.Wasn't too hot on it for a while but since i got a decent inteface it sounds stellar  Not tried 4 but i think it's a lot easier to roll your own than 3 is(still figurin it out )

For long evolving textures, I'd say your best bets are Absynth, Cameleon5000 and pretty much everything from HG Fortune.

Seems additive is king for long evolving patches here. So, to answer your hardware question I'll throw in one more--Kawai K5000. This is the best hardware synth I've heard for the long evolving patch thing (and I have one :D , but rarely use it for anything other than my master MIDI controller).

addative is the way of the future, it doesnt have limitations like conventional methods.

The whole concept of using oscillators to create sound will become laughable a few years I think.

I saw this vst that could make super long time stretches of any audio source, which could sound like one longggg evolving pad if done well.
Why cry about your own desires, when I could have them and leave you standing in the sadness of your own....

Cameleon 5000 (addative sythasis....)

(Additive Synthesis) and it wasnt Cameleon5000.
