Not too often a song has my undivided attention in the first 2 seconds but you managed it!

That pan pipe synth has got to go if you want to me add vocals over this, though

I am jealous of whatever that sensuous phasing is. Bloody flying spaghetti monster on a frisbee, Shane, that's a gorgeous track.

The phaser is actually just a Kjaerhus Classic. I put it on a send and then automated it so that the more exposed acoustic parts would be free of it. I think it definitely helps stretch the tolerability of the repetition.

Thanks a ton for the kind words. I'm gonna keep working on this one and will post the updated version whenever I have one, so bookmark the thread if you want it.

updated again with full attention to EQ shelving and lots more. Added a moog synth line that really helps lift it in spots as well as a few dynamic and timbral changes here and there.

This is a cool track, Shane

Production is excellent, it sound soooo good, I like it for the odd rhythm and unusual melodies and I noticed you achieve exotic moods with stripped down arragements, fine.

Excellent track Shane! Nice use of traditional and modern instruments, grooves quite well despite the odd meter, crisp production, yeah I can definitely see this one going somewhere. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! Yeah, CPU consumption is forcing me to stop using very many synths in a track, it is refreshing to try to think of ways to combine a limited number of elements.

This is really interesting. I too like the distribution of instruments. I think you've also managed the less-is-more trick. There is plenty of space in the mix.
