I don't seem to be able to get an answer from the Sonalksis form submit, so I'll try here.

Trying the essentials demo.

Can you tell me about the ability to external input sidechain with SV315 in Ableton. Is it possible at the moment. Works in SX3 and PT73 but not Live. I don't see anything to select in the list.

btw I think TBK3 is going to be an essential for me as well.

Thanks

Thanks, yes I have received an email now.

I realised you must have been busy with the new release so I left it a while.

I'm getting "demo expired" messages. My computer's clock is set correctly.

Great Drum compressor. Can get the pumping sound that I hear on records finally! Only problem is when I use it on a send to an aux bus(i.e. parrellel compression)it has phasing issues. I have tried enabling the delay compensation on/off with no help. Using in Sonar 6.21. Anybody else seeing this?

that's why I thought a mix fader would be a good idea, remove PDC from the equation

Hmmm...not getting any phasing over here in Cubase.

Does anyone know if this compressor is useful for vocals? How does it compare to other compressors in this area?
Unfortunately I won't have any access to my computer for the next two weeks so I can't demo it but I'm very curious to find out what do you guys/girls think?
Thanks

I've tried it on vocals and it's fantastic. With subtle settings, it adds amazing "warmth" to the sound. With non subtle settings, it adds that warmth plus presence. I love it, it's not easy to make it sound unsuitable on anything.

So how are you guys getting along with it? I'm loving it for character on simple things - I linked a Peak Controller to it and put it on a synth line with modest settings and it adds a very nice warmth!

smart: I'm getting along with it so well, in fact we're thinking of getting married. It's so good, I don't even care that I don't know what gender it is.

For me, it's the very best plugin in years. It can actually give me that warmth or that aggressive analog type compression that no other plugin (native or not native) can. I absolutely hate using hardware compressors, equalizers, etc, so now that I don't need hardware to get this kind of warm, tasty compression/distortion, I'm happy.

I touch most of my sound sources with it, from very subtly to hard when needed, and the outcome is just how I like it. Recently I needed some tough compression for some synth lead, and the outcome is amazing. Without TBK3 I would never have been able to get it to sound remotely as I wanted it to sound.

Can't wait for when the current top secret Sonalksis developments are exposed.
