Sorry, I can't reproduce either of these with the respective demos. I think the second issue might be a graphics card issue, since the plugin uses OpenGL to draw the routings section, but without being able to reproduce it myself, there's not much I can do

Similarly with the first one - not being able to reproduce it means I can't really track down what the problem is.

Hmm thats strange, works perfect over here. No crashes or freeze ups. Just crackles with 5 dice..

Just how old is that CPU of yours?

One thing about the CPU use, while high, it's fairly steady. With all effects going, it generally hits 40% on my computer and stays there, no up/down spikes from moving a slider or adjusting a modulator.

well, thanks for asking... it shouldn't be the plug's fault completely...

i have a Toshiba M-30x satellite with 512 Mb RAM and Pentium M 1.80 GHz from, say, 2,5 years ago.

the CPU moves up and down when you move the sliders, IIRC. well... maybe not all the sliders, as i'm pretty much fed up with my CPU power and when it starts to "freeze", i just close the plugin and think "must buy new computer..."

If you want i can make a re-check when i'm back from work, if you can call writing here "work"...

Pentium M 1,8 GHz, XP Home SP2, 512 Mb RAM, Live 6.0.7:

Fragmental on audio, no other effects/ intruments: Stand-by (no audio) : ~14 % in default preset

with audio playing : ~20 % deault preset / ~85 % with everything preset

changing the parameters while playing made my computer freeze with the everything preset, and CPU reached ~70% in the default preset

anyway, great plug

That's quite strange - my own computer's a 2.0GHz Pentium M, and I get nowhere near as high cpu usage as you're getting (40-45% for me on the everything preset). The only thing I can think is that again, it might be a graphics card issue - does the cpu usage change if you close the gui?

The only parameters that should have an effect on the cpu usage are the 6 routing sliders, which can be used to switch effects on and off - you shouldn't see a change manipulating any of the effects parameters, or the modulation parameters.

Ultimately there's not anything I can do about the high cpu usage. If Steinberg made their VST license compatible with the GPL, I could use FFTW for the phase vocoding, which would provide a speed increase for the 3 PVOC effects (which are the main cpu hogs, everything else is mostly negligible, in my tests anyway), but they've shown no interest in doing that, so we're stuck with the old, slow FFT implementation, which has a slightly more liberal license.

thanks for the plugin, its pretty awesome! works fine here with renoise 1.8 and renoise 1.5.2. i'm having some problems with plogue bidule though- fragmental freezes bidule's gui if i try to insert afterwards any other bidule objects/fx/whatever...but in any case- its a brilliant plugin
