Hi,
I'm curious to know the differences between a drum machine and groove machines like the Korg Electribe and Roland MC-808. It seems to me that a groove machine is a drum machine with sound generators for basses and synths, plus the tracks to record them. How are they different from a sequencer with some built-in sounds?
How is a Grovebox Not a Drum Machine?

"Groovebox" was just a marketing term Roland came out with to market the MC-303 when it was released.

Yes, No...
I was corrected once to call a MC307 a workstation. It's seems like a workstation for most people needs to have keys... But who cares, for me a Workstation is a Groovebox (step sequenzer) with synth, if there's no Synth - for me - it's a drum machine
