Wasn't there a way to chose the output displayed in the mixer strip in the sequencer? I know it's gotta be there but I don't remember how i did it.

Post

Not really choose - but you do have an option or two.

With a multi-output VSTi, the channels that are not connected can be collapsed by clicking the small left arrow in the comp's title bar.

I think he means choosing a specific output with a multi out VST within the sequencer.
If so MadPsyance, you don't remember how you did it because you never did do it. :hihi: It's not implemented (yet).
I'm better than you. Deal with it.

?
click the output name at the bottom of each strip, tick the desired outputs

I could have sworn that at one time you could chose what output meter was being displayed in the mixer stip within the sequencer.

Like for example, I'm using dr. fusion 2 which can have 6 outputs..I thought you could click somewhere on the mixer strip (that you can optionally show in the sequencer)and it there would be a little drop-down menu that would let you change the output channel displayed with it's volume meter's, faders, sends, etc...
I'm almost certain this was possible in the early stages.
I'm talking xt2 btw.

Not yet implemented unfortunately.

I suggested some arrows at the bottom of the mixer to select specific outs.

Here's a link from last year where I commented on this:

If anyone has one of the first betas,,please confirm i"m not crazy.

I'm not aware that you ever able to selectively choose which mixer strips were visible in the mixer itself outside of the more general options you had (show comps, don't show comps etc.)

Reading your post you linked to just confuses me because here you're talking about clicking of a mixer strip, but the post is talking about viewing something from the sequencer?

You weren't talking about the ability to route tracks in the sequencer to various comps/outputs via right-click on the sequencer comp in the main comps window?

In any case, this has made me wonder one thing. I can expose a single mixer strip within the sequencer for VSTi that I'm routed to. In the case of a multi-out VSTi, what am I seeing here? Am I only seeing the first channel regardless?

Seems a little weird.

Ah - that picture explains what the OP was talking about. I wasn't 100% sure what was going on there.

Given my last post, I'd have to say +100 to bringing back that functionality. I don't quite understand the point of that mixer strip in the sequencer for multi-out VSTi without something like that being possible.

YES! Thank you djsubject!

Right now, the only output channel being displayed is the first output in the mixer strip....This selectable output thing really really needs to come back...with the option to rename them as well....AND...the option to hide channel strips that aren't being used as a channel for a vst's output.

Definitely! This has been one of my pet peeves with the mixer since day 1.

please add the FR to the Mixer theme.

it's more likely to get noticed (and "re-implemented") there.
