What program to create this sound?

Hey all,
I've got this sound that I can hear in my head... it sounds like a cross between a duduk and wine glasses being played.
It has more of a blown sound than a plucked sound though... So it would sound sort of like a glass flute, but with a reed attached.
I was wondering if someone could suggest a good program to get that sort of sound (yeah i know it's kind of a vague desciption).
I was thinking of something that could take two lots of samples and combine them or morph them together.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ben H

BTW I know jack about synthesis (cause I stick mainly to samples), so this prob may sound like a lame question... but please indulge me anyway.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

Try something like Rhino. It is a hybrid FM/additive/subtractive/wavetable synth. It'll let you import samples as oscillators (good for getting specific sound chrateristics) and has preset attack samples and extensive envelopes for making sounds of that nature (layered/sequenced versions of several known sounds).

I think you would do better searching for a physical modeling synth, something on the likes of Logic's Structure, where you can choose the material and the way to excite it.

PhM would be the ultimate way to do it. But I don't possess the maths know-how to be able to do somethihng like that.
That's why I am hoping that maybe some resynthesis technique can get me there instead.

You could be right...jupiter8 wrote:Sounds like a job for Cameleon 5000
Looks like I will have to spend some time coming to terms with this prog.
Did I mention that I suck at sound design?

there's a Tibetan Horn with glass/icy/fm feedback on somebody's Absynth collection that sounds like it might work
I've been meaning to find it again so I could use it use it in a piece
