z3ta+ General MIDI bank v0.06
z3ta+ GM in action! (v0.06)

I got bored one day thinking if there was any way to get the type of sound htsfms could obtain from its simple 6/8-osc FM synthesis in realtime on a small applet.

Then I thought, why not just make it in z3ta+, since it's got 6-osc (with more than enough types of synthesis and waveforms) plus a very flexible modulation system.

So for that, I began making patches out of scratch. The Piano one on this is similar to the one in my Variance (v0.3) bank (which also needs to be completed)

Anyway, guys if any of you are bored please tell me what you think of this idea of a bank and if I should continue it.

Update History:
Happy Independence Day, Americans. Although Aussieland doesn't celebrate it, there's always room for respect and recognition. *plays 1814 Overture over bomb explos-- i mean fireworks. :D*

Anyway, v0.05 has a significant update, both quantity and overall sound. Definitely getting there. Pianos, organs, Accordions, Guitars, Basses, some brasses and nearly all strings are complete.

EDIT: v0.06 has general tweaks and modwheel vibrato on every patch

Questions:

Are there any pitch or numbering inaccuracies?

Should a pseudo set of drum sounds be made for Bank B, to cater for the rest of the GM, only the drums have to be separated per instance/channel instead of a single kit?

Any issues with sound quality? (I need tips on how to deliver the Square and Saw Lead sounds.)

...nice patches :tu: - will have a closer look this weekend...

Hmm I got the rest of the organ sounds done. I won't update the file until I get about 50 instruments done.

I'll post a demo after I reach halfway.

Post

Yeah, 50 instruments mark. (v0.04)
I swapped Celesta to Music Box cause I made a Celesta sound that actually sounds more better.

I cant open the link... does it still exist??

Same here. Sounds like an interesting project though.

What's your methodology for creating the patches?

Post

Fixed URL. Sorry about that.

Anyway, I simply try to make patches using only the internal oscillators by ear, using a 'templamatic' type of sound in mind. (Usually whether it be from a realistic sample, to Yamaha XG, to htsfms et cetera.)

Reverb remains the same as everything else, and delay has to be used only as a 'chromatic noise resonator'

Happy independence Day, holla to the Americans!

v0.05 update. Past the halfway mark. MP3 practical demo coming real soon.

EDIT: v0.06, fixed some mistakes from last night and added modwheel vibrato to all patches.

EDIT2: DEMO MP3 UP!

I'll have to say though, z3ta+ and energyXT really don't get along when it comes to 15 instances at the same time. Had to bounce all channels individually which takes a while and space... Drums are Yamaha S-YXG2006LE.
