Some pretty serious GUI problems. After using it for a few minutes I can't seem to move the Lowpass Cutoff control... I can grab it but moving the mouse only causes a little movement. Then the filter type changes while I'm dragging, as if I had clicked on the type buttons.
Like the fade effects though, cool.

SX3.
Just got it to happen again. Occurred after what looks like a denormal. CPU usage shot to 100%, back down now, but the GUI is broken, several of the knobs don't respond and seem to cause clicks on neighbouring buttons as I drag.
Just saved and reloaded that project. Rubberfilter came back with the cutoffs set to 20 - 20k and turned off, like it had reinitialized and not recalled it's settings.
I did that test with Poly-Ana. Just tried again using a few other synths as noise sources and wasn't able to reproduce the denormal. Though I didn't try for as long yet. Christian, you have a free license of Poly-Ana for your code contribution in her, so feel free to hit me with your SN and I'll key you.
So, the GUI breaks if CPU maxxes out. And doesn't recall it's project settings (maybe that's a known?)

Got that prob, too. Using Nuendo2/SX2. It happens without maxing out the CPU.AdmiralQuality wrote:SX3.

More obs...
Can't reproduce that in Plogue Bidule. Even with the project essentially duplicated, all the same plugins used. Never got it to denormal.
Doesn't mean it won't as it took a while to make it happen in previous tests, and I see a few others have reported similar problems.
And it still doesn't recall it's settings when the project is reloaded. So I guess that's by design. Kind of a major omission but I do realize you get what you pay for so not complaining, just reporting.
Pretty fun making a bandpass that's only about a half-step wide. You can pull a single musical note out of noise. Would be nice if you could set a constant bandwidth and control the combined cutoffs, so we could slide that band around with only one knob. And would be killer if you could control the cutoff from MIDI notes, like you can with SCAMP (and probably some others). Then you could play melodies out of noise or other sources.
Some finer control would be nice too, given the steep slope a single pixel of mouse movement can be too much to hit the exact note you're looking for. I always encourage support of all 3 mouse modes too, I'm a circular preference guy myself.

You think so?AdmiralQuality wrote:You guys think too much.tonAP wrote:Dittomuzycian wrote:Isn't there a .zip version of the installer, please?
I hate .exe installers for 3 reasons:
-> you're never 100% sure it's virus free
-> they clutter the registry
-> the most clean and easy uninstall = a simple "delete folder" action
That's true.- You're never 100% sure the payload .dll is virus free either, if you trust the developer to make one, you should the other as well.
I'm not an idiot, man.- Storing data in the registry can be done by the .dll just as readily as the installer. If the plug needs something in the registry, it's going to do it (and need it to function correctly)
- Maybe your registry is "cluttered" exactly because you've been deleting directories and not giving the uninstallers a chance.
I know that an uninstaller is an un-installer, and SHOULD do the reverse of the installation.
But why of why gets the windows registry cluttered even when using uninstallers?
Because there are many uninstallers that don't un-install properly.
(and because there is some thing in windows which seems to like wasting computer resources, i guess. so more hardware can be sold. and so the hardware business loves and pushes m$)
For me, as a long time computer user, the neatest and cleanest way to organize apps, is when they are just contained in 1 folder, without the need for global links. Deleting the folder = deleting the app. Very modular way of working. Like: i plug the app into my system, knowing that i can plug it out when i want, without leaving any trash.
There are many apps that too easily use the global prefs, with all the cluttering as a consequence.
Just like in OO programming: avoid globals as much as possible. Avoids dependencies etc...
So, euh, is there .zip version available of this plugin.
Curious to hear its sound.
