interestingly i just downloaded a multi track midi file

http://www.goodier.net/Pachelbel/canonwind.mid

& it loaded 13 midi tracks :D

thought i would have to use another app to split the file :)

glad you nailed the bug jorgen :)

Jorgen-
About importing multi track midi files: they all get channel 1 instead of their set channels.
Also if you multi-select some midi tracks, you can set all of them to to the same ch at once but the object bar always shows ch 1 when many tracks are selected (even if they are all for example set to ch 5).

Anyway, good news about the midi bug being fixed :)

if you drag the "M.Ch" down so that it's blank, the files will use their set channels... so could this issue be solved by having the track's M.Ch default to blank when importing midi files?

i guess we might also need to be able to set the channel per note as well as per track.

thats cool, insert! nice hidden feature.

well, this is actually how XT1 worked by default... there was an "O.Ch" setting to transform the output channel but it was off by default. the difference is that this is currently the only way to select a channel in XT2.

The only issue is, if the M.ch box is blank, you have no idea what ch the data is sent on. But I kind of like the fact that I can switch back and forth between the original and a selected chan.

edit:
Ah, I can see recorded ch in the event list ;)
