I don't know about the DVD, but the downloadable version (Kontakt/EXS24/Halion) are all multi-sampled - the same wav files are used for Halion fxp, Kontakt NKI, and EXS24. The Giga is a separate download.
No idea about what they do on the DVD's, but quite a few of the sample sets would fill a 4.7G DVD by themselves as-is, much less bundling distinct formats.

It matters... they basically just burn it and put the product's image on the DVD. I just got my PMI Hybrid in KontaktCompyfox wrote:Do they put the samples on DVD just for better storing (aka the downloaded version) or are these really multisamples on the DVDs and it doesn't matter which format I choose?

So no pressed Multiformat DVDs then, but "burned" with a glue label - a bit dissapointing, and for this I pay 10bucks extra...
Or is that actually a real pressed DVD, but without box/manual.

I think it's burned since it has a purple colored dye...which is very similar to my home burned DVDs. No manual as well, just a paper sleeve. That's it.Compyfox wrote:So no pressed Multiformat DVDs then, but "burned" with a glue label - a bit dissapointing, and for this I pay 10bucks extra...

Is it maybe possible to get a photo or something? I'm just curious. This is what's bugging me a bit with the sentence "DVDs are OEM, booklet as PDF". Because if it's just a burned DVD, just like with Musiclab before they offered a "boxed version", then there's no use to pay 10bucks extra per DVD. At least in my opinion.

As long as you get the files, who cares whether the DVD is printed or not?
If you have the bandwidth, download 'em and play. The DVD's are primarily for people who cannot download the quantity of data that some of the sample sets use - it's just an alternate delivery mechanism - you're paying for the cost of the media, the delivery cost, and the person's time to burn your files to disk.
For me, the benefits of getting them (virtually) immediately far outweigh any other delivery mechanism...

Hmm I don't understand the question...what do multisamples have to do with anything? The instruments are all multisampled, many layers deep in fact, regardless of whether you get the downloaded version or the DVDs. And there are dedicated programs for each supported sample format.Compyfox wrote:Do they put the samples on DVD just for better storing (aka the downloaded version) or are these really multisamples on the DVDs and it doesn't matter which format I choose?
The DVD versions are for people who don't have fast internet connections, or the desire to download for hours and then burn their own backup DVDs.

Hm... Looks like a DVD-R Printable to me... so I guess, I could save 10bucks per DVD if I just use the download version.
Thanks for the hookup.

I have the Steinway B as part of EWQLSO silver. I also have Bosendorfer 290. I never use the bosendorfer always use the steinway becuase to me it sounds like I always remember a grand piano as in piano concertos with deep piercing ringing low notes etc. The bosendorfer is nice but not really what I like.

I... guess I found my samples - Old Lady, Emperor and the regular Bosendorfer 290, though Emperor is basically the same just with convolution for the "ambience", same as with Black Grand, though that one sounds AWESOME... but expensive...
I just wanted to bump this as general info for everybody else, as today (5. Juli) is the last day to get the samples for half the price.
