I have had a big problem of not being able to finsh songs for some time. I have libaries of incomplete clips usually (10-30 sec clips) and I was wondering what steps do I need to take to make complete songs. I might be missing something like: music theory, experience, listening to music and etc. I also wonder how common this is for musicians and also how their experience was if they had to go through the same hump.When I started I had a lot of musical ideas but once I opened fruity loops the ideas narrowed but as I learned how to use program better I learned how to take melodies and beats from my head but ideas to make melodies and beats in my head seem to be gone or not as easy to think up of. I have learned a bit of music theory like chords and writing melodies in scales but it hasn't really made a big impact. Becoming a music artist isn't very straight forward but that's probably one good thing about being an artist.

I hope it helps you, focus and determination are the key i think and making a list of things you need to achieve in order to finish it and then start at the top.
