Hi,

I haven't used soundfonts before so am a bit clueless about this. I'm looking for a picked, fairly bright acoustic guitar soundfont, preferably free. Can anyone recommend...

1. a soundfont player?
2. a guitar soundfont?

I'd like to be able to just load the guitar soundfont and start playing it - I'd prefer not to have to do any manual key/velocity-mapping.

Any advice would be appreciated. I have (and like) String Studio, but it's sounding a bit too quirky in the mix of one particular song, so I'm seeking a more 'vanilla' acoustic guitar sound.

Thanks :D

Soundfont player - you won't do better than sfz for no nonsense reproduction.

Guitar soundfonts - easiest places to try are www.soundfonts.it and www.hammersound.net There are a ton others, but those two are a goos place to start. I have a variety of plain steel strung fonts, but I can't for the life of me remember where I got them from!

There used to be a sticky 'The inifinite free soundfonts list' or somesuch.. can't find it now.. maybe it was destickied, or became the 'BIG sample' thread at the top of this forum.
