Where can I get drum samples like the ones zircon used in Antigravity?
I know he layered a bunch of samples but I need something to layer.. (not loops)
I bought this a long time ago, but it sounds like junk..

It would be good fortune to ask zircon directly. He does hang around these parts, as well as moderate forums/judge submissions for www.OCRemix.org
Anyway, you sure you don't want to use loops? Some of those loops I'd advise on looking at are breakbeat, DnB, or Trip-Hop loops or one-shots.

get the loops and slice them up my friend, it takes but a moment and a bonus is that you can look at a loop like it's a ready made kit where you already know that the individual hits mesh well together. as a sidenote load them up in Guru and know that heaven does exist.

Haha, man, a thread asking about how to get my sound? My life is complete!
I can be pretty specific about what I use to get my drum sounds, but in general it is a conglomerate of loops, oneshots from different sources, and some custom material. I wrote a tutorial on my general approach, which is available at my website (www.zirconstudios.com) - it's not just the sample choices, but layering, processing, and rhythm. There's definitely no one plugin or collection that I use.
Good luck!

umm, i'm talking about culling your own oneshot drum hits....Like zircon. unless you think zircon builds his own drumheadssb.net wrote:Well.. then I don't feel like the music's mine... like some one else put together the kits and I just add parts to those kits.

Just some general hints of his samples:
Gota Yashiki's Groove Activator
Stylus RMX (Loops, and oneshots from the soundmenu)
FL Studio's built in samples
stuff from the internet
Then the last time I remember, he uses like 2-3 kicks layered, same as with snare. And the rest comes from whatever he feels like. He also likes the FLStudio Shuffle function.
In terms of the song "Antigravity", he also used Stormdrums/Rare Instruments from EastWest as support.
"Why do you know all this crap?", well - I know zircon for years now and talk to him from time to time about his productions, so I know what samples he uses from (not to mention that they're listed on his page) if I don't recognize them myself.
Oh yeah, since he's also having a similar style of his friend "tefnek", he's also using heavy processing on the drums. Meaning compression, EQ and the like. So the standard samples are smacked up even further, giving him his usual sound. You can try DigitalFishphones Dominion on the drumchannel (group) to add that additional "smack".
The rest is just mixing and arranging.

OK.. I LOVE your tutorials.. I never liked synth1 until I read your tutorials..
While your here, do master your own songs? Or OC remix songs?
Anyway, Compyfox said some stuff so I'll go with what he said.
Thanks!!

Both, though basically only the songs he's involved with (OCR).sb.net wrote:While your here, do master your own songs? Or OC remix songs?

Yeah, I do everything myself currently, and once in awhile I do mastering work for other people. It's not my forte but I'm decent at it.
