Nope. New versions often do not support older version's patches so it's not a good idea to invest too much effort in patch producing at this moment.

I don't know if eXT randomizes the unison slider, but normally you'll want to keep it on 1x. It's in the control page.

gsoto,
Cheers , I'll try that.
Still working my way round this synth.

oh, freaking cool! i like that idea, and i'd very much like to see what you came up with. I'll bet money that it's like 8 kilobytes in total, and uses negative CPU cycles. like, you start it up, and your computer actually gets faster  anyway, i look forward to that.

xhip continuse to be cool. what can i say about that? thanx for the latest dll.

Hello again,
Yes the XT1 randomiser was actually altering the unsison mode, hence high CPUsage, that problem is now solved.

I do however have 2 final questions, and any input would be much appreciated.

1.Using pitch bend in unison mode always crashes the host, this is reproducible on energyxt1/2 and toybear minihost. I'm not too fussed about avoiding pitch bend, but is it a known issue, and are there any earlier versions that allow pitchbend in unison mode ?

2.actually regarding the crashed host. I can't seem to end the host.exe process from task manager, but can open new instances. So after each crash I'm left with many instances of host.exe in the processes tab. Does anyone know how to solve this (ie end these unwated instances without having to restart the computer ?)

Regards.

regarding 2. , it happens to me sometimes and it seems ASIO driver is to blame. no tool can kill the host.exe after the ASIO crash, i've tried them all. restart is the only thing that helps.

cheers!

it is the asio driver, it is probably using a kernel timing function, so when the plugin crashes the kernel loop is left in a race-condition with the driver and neither ever gets to the point where it can exit.

"is it a known issue, and are there any earlier versions that allow pitchbend in unison mode?"

it isnt a known issue, i'll fix it.

Thank you !

AD, you are superhuman !
Pitch bend/unison problem is now completely solved. :D

Thanks again.

well actually this is a case where i was sub-human when implementing the bender -> parameter mapping. it turns out that there has _always_ been corruption occurring due to the fact i was not checking if the bender was being mapped at all. this means that parameter[-1] was being accessed, meaning a value 1 index behind the first parameter. with unison disabled because of the way voices are allocated the corruption landed in a byte that didnt really matter. (i didnt check which byte)

when unison was enabled, voices were allocated in such a way that the byte being corrupted DID matter.. causing the crashes. this hidden corruption bug shouldnt have happened in the first place.. it's lucky that unison caused it to crash and that you pointed it out. i hope i dont have more of these bugs i'm unaware of, although i bet i do :P

aciddose, i have a small request :
could you please release the note logic module separately as a midi only vst ?
i really like throwing a mess of chords and arps at xhip, and change its note logic to shape the melody, i wish i could record that to a midi track...
this would get a lot of use here.

cheers

So is it finished yet? :)

And I've deleted AQ's most recent comments in this thread, as I promised to do before they were made. They contained nothing of significance, just insults and cries of "liar." He's welcome to post whatever he likes in the new thread made just for his dispute.

AQ, this is a final warning. You nearly earned a ban with your previous comments in this thread, now in the split off thread. If you keep trying to hijack this thread again you're going to have to take a time-out, just like snooky's doing.

[edit] In his final post for a week, AQ decided to call me a Nazi. That is NOT what he got banned for, but for refusing to stop attempting to hijack this thread. (As promised, I deleted several other posts he made well after being warned not to do so.) But it was an extremely ill-advised and grave insult nonetheless. As a rule I do not hold grudges but I will remember that.

P.S.: AQ, if you try evading the ban by making another account, that account and your regular one will both be permanently banned. Fair warning. Do the smart thing and take a week to cool off. The only one you're damaging is yourself.

Now back to the regularly scheduled thread.

notelogic as midi plugin: yes i can definitely do this, when? i cant say. i really need to spend as much time working on xhip as possible. when i rework the notelogic in the near future for the items on the todo list which require it, i'll probably seperate it into it's own plugin at the same time.

amused; what? xhip? or the other plugins you asked for? same deal, i really need to spend all my time when i'm coding on xhip so i can hurry up and get beta 7 out. these small side projects have sidetracked me long enough at this point. once beta 7 is out however i'll almost definitely do those plugins. i think you can get a sampling of the eq plugin i mentioned here http://xhip.cjb.net/xhipeffects/release ... arameq.dll

it isnt working correctly, though.
