Like the look of the Pocket POD, and the neat form factor, but Im somewhat disappointed that it doesnt work as an audio interface, and doesnt support the Model Packs.

Bit of a missed opportunity, IMO.

Why don't you but the Toneport then?

Did you miss the point that, unlike the Toneports and Guitarport (the latter of which I already own, thanks) this doesn't need a computer to work? Y'know, like the actual POD.

I notice they have a tiny Toneport out now too. Seems to be a trend at the moment - was in Soundcontrol on Saturday looking at the almost pocket sized tiny Kaoss pad, a very cute tiny Orange amp, and the new tiny Line6 gear.

Yeah, Ive got one of the mini Kaoss pads. I like the 'tabletop' factor of a lot of these kinda things. One reason Ive currently got a desk covered in effects pedals. :hihi:

I tend to use my Guitarport as the audio interface on my laptop; on my main DAW its just a dongle for the Gearbox plugin. If this thing did Modelpacks and audio, I'd replace my Guitarport tomorrow.

Wait what do you want? A portable amp sim or an audio interface?

Or both? Get a PodXT, they aint that big.

I have a Guitarport and a PODxt. I never use the guitarport.

Wow. No model pack capability? It's also missing my favorite amp sim, the Line 6 Spinal Puppet. No sale!

(I'd actually thought about getting one of these, taking it apart, and seeing if it could be built into a guitar. )

Also:

The manufacturer's warranty on the Pocket POD is 90 days from the date of purchase.
Remember the iLokalypse Summer 2013

Samples and presets and free stuff!

don't get shirty with me please. I was simply suggesting something for you.

Its not a missed opportunity, Line6 are trying to fill the gap. If it had an audio interface and support for model packs, its going to have an effect on PodXT sales.

Its like the new tiny toneport.... trying to fill the gap (but being completely pointless at the same time).

You want a portable amp sim which runs on batteries, get the pocket pod. You already have a GP which acts an audio interface.

Perhaps I am missing the point, as I don't know the complete feature list for the GP, please enlighten me.

I wasnt asking for suggestions. I was commenting on the (probably artificial) limitation of the product.

Here's the point: "Like the look of the Pocket POD, and the neat form factor. Im somewhat disappointed that it doesnt work as an audio interface, and doesnt support the Model Packs."
